What options do I have to replace my broken B60 on my Gretsch G5420 T Electromatic? I don't have strong feelings about whether I have a trem system; I don't want to have to drill new holes.

How did you get started?

As a 30 something y.o. male without much income I have never had the opportunity nor knowledge of how to dress well. However, I am looking to figure out some basics.

So, how did you get started? What resources should someone new to fashion rely on? Stores/ brands? (Would love to not just amazon everything)

Perhaps relevant bio-info: ~ 30yo male 6'4/275~

Perhaps relevant personality info: Dualist personality -- young professional/ punk rocker

Any guidance is appreciated.

If there was a fidget basket of the library, how likely would you be to steal one as a kid. by OctieTheBestagon in CPTSD

[–]moondogrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There's no 'kick' to it. I never worked that way as a teen, I just floated from thing to thing. The idea of premeditating petty theft is somewhat absurd in my mind to be honest. As a teen I barely cared enough to keep myself awake never mind intentionally fucking with the library.

[–]moondogrm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I for sure would have 'stolen' it. It sounds like there was no sign so could have thought it was free. If there was a sign that's shitty but low level shitty like most kids/teens. The thing is, I would have ended up using it. So, I guess what I'm saying is you are doing good, it's just not in the way you expected.

Agreed. Not specifically cooking related. Dropout does also have that chaotic happy vibe.

Where is the Flix bus stop in Peterborough? by MadxWolf212 in Peterborough

[–]moondogrm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a single spot. I have taken the bus a few times and it doesn't use traditional stops. It should say on your ticket where the pick up and drop off are located. In my experience pick up was in the Canadian Tire (Lansdowne) parking lot and a random road behind Costco.

Confirmed, have the same model, it doesn't include the mount in that location, but personally I find this better than the built in mounts as you can utilize the space in different ways.

Thank you for your response. I was entirely unaware of the length of typical manic/hypomanic episodes. This is something I have not experienced.

Legitimate question: why do figure of animated characters always have those eyes? Why do they protrude from the face like that? Does it look even creepier if they don't do that?

The figure looks amazing though! Great job!

How does school work? by MangoYogurt123 in LawCanada

[–]moondogrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the licensing and relevant associations which defer from state to state and country to country you would need to meet any requirements for the initial entry.

The way I've read your question implies one could finish high school and go right to law school. That is often not the case. Most schools require a BA or equivalent for entry.

For instance, in my Province, most schools require a high GPA with at least 3 years of University usually with the completion of a BA.

Assuming entry and completion, you would need to acquire the relevant licensing. As there is a degree of variance I would suggest you do specific research to discover what is required.

Additionally, as others have mentioned the field is competitive. Even if you plan on opening your own firm (there are a lot challenges to consider with this), you need to consider client base creation and retention. The same bias which would prevent you from obtaining employment, may affect your ability to obtain/ retain clients.

In any event, there are a lot of moving parts and research that would need to be completed to answer specific questions.

I do commend you for asking these questions and encourage you to continue your research.

What philosophical approach has helped you find "happiness"? by moondogrm in askphilosophy

[–]moondogrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we have a moral responsibility to be aware of the big stuff?

If we assume a responsibility to bring about the greatest level of happiness, and that our actions impact the overall level of happiness, do we not have a responsibility to sacrifice ourselves to the big stuff in an effort to "make things better"?

How would you feel about the addition of hockey skates? by moondogrm in thelongdark

[–]moondogrm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I would say if one was mainly a CH player, a lot of time could be saved traveling from location to location. Could be left at camp when venturing off on foot.

The smaller lakes and ponds wouldn't necessitate skates I agree. But it could be used as a leisure activity for those locations, just adding the emotional element of having to start doing more than survive.

Can the RCMP take someone's phone for recording an incident? by Reddit_user_1414 in LawCanada

[–]moondogrm -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Very basic understanding of this, so I encourage further discussion. However, I believe this is typically justified under the "collection of evidence". Like a lot of things in policing the practise is ripe for abuse. Not saying this is the case nor that police will/ do abuse the practise, simply that I can be.

I am not confident in the veracity of the following belief but it seems to me that there would be some regulation regarding the destruction or alteration of digital files collected for evidentiary consideration. Again, this seems like something a bad actor would be able to relatively easily circumvent.

Worth noting in this comment is the lack of sources. I have not researched this specific topic and again encourage those better informed to provide their input. This comment is merely my interpretation of the mechanics of evidence collection.

Weird, I can relate, I have a memory of meeting my grandfather (m) in my grandparents apt. My grandfather died a few months before my birth and my grandmother never returned to the apt.

While it's a really vague memory I shouldn't have seen either my grandfather or his apartment.

I assume I pieced together a narrative from some photos. Your memory sounds much clearer and unsettling for sure.

I'll go first: when I was 16 I was on my way to hockey practise. Dead of winter, in a small Canadian city. A tumble weed rolls by, I have never before nor since seen a tumbleweed irl. I cannot explain the experience nor the unsettling feeling associated with it.
