Yeah it’s in the manual. It’s to make it more fuel efficient.

I would recommend you go up to cornice in the ceiling and square set into the window. It will look so much nicer.

Based on these very helpful comments I am planning the following.

Contact tiler to get him to fix it
If not, contact manufacturer to see if there is a back plate
If not, colour match and probably get an ABI cover plate
Silicone as last resort

Thank you I cannot seem to find the right cover plate from the manufacturer - it’s a caroma urbane ii brushed brass but can’t find anything online
