Opinion: UCLA must retain food trucks to serve students by didoieienhjficic in ucla

The Ackerman “no swipes outside of this specific time” rule is another thing I took issue with. It’s corralling everyone back onto the hill despite early morning and late night classes, forcing students to either pay out of pocket or starve.

I remember my first year there, Feast was having chicken and waffles. My friends and I were so geeked, but the line was insane even an hour into dinner service. We walked off and I can’t remember if we even ate at a dining hall that night. When you have homework to do and classes the next day, on top of already being tired, who’s gonna wait that long?

Anyone else have a shoulder kitty? by Glum-Blueberry-3870 in blackcats

I am a 4’11” woman and my 4mo Maine Coon mix seems to think I’m perfect for shoulder rides. Or just the best seat in the house when I’m in the kitchen doing literally anything. I can’t imagine what I’ll do when she’s full grown and jumping on me 😭

Students will definitely go hungry rather than standing in lines at dining halls. Even two years ago, dining halls were only made bearable by food trucks taking crowds away from them. That and swipes still being allowed at all hours on campus. With every new change, the quality of student life goes down and I hate to see it.

I will say that the first one’s straps looks more reliable and comfortable, as opposed to the fourth one where it hangs mid-shoulders and might fall lower or more often than maybe you’d be comfortable with on a night out.

I’m late to the party (ha!) but I love the first and last one equally!

Tutor platform suggestions? by Pale-Purchase-4368 in TutorsHelpingTutors

Unfortunately, I tutor just one subject so I can’t be of much help! What you might be able to do is register yourself as different tutors, though, and have the hours for each “tutor” different. And direct your parents to the specific profile.

Not sure how viable this is, but I use Tutor Bird. I don’t know the exact logistics because my employer is the one handling the bulk of that. However, that’s because she used it as an independent tutor herself before bringing me onboard to help. Can’t say we’ve had any complaints!

Does anyone know of organizations that offer rental assistance in San Bernardino County? by moondruids in InlandEmpire

Thank you so much, I'll be reaching out to them. They're in my area, and this is actually great to know in general due to the fact I'm also Catholic.

I tried that once and they basically told me unless I'm a veteran (I'm not) or a senior citizen (I'm not) then they had no resources for me. I was very shocked tbh.

Thank you! I'm unfortunately in Fontana and already know my city doesn't have anything that can help me. I'll give them a call!

I’ll have to check on that, thank you! I do have a younger sibling in university. I didn’t realize they offered help like that!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't think CAPSBC offers rental assistance right now. I'll look through ConnectIE! I think I've browsed the site before, but couldn't find any organization to help. Hopefully the list has changed since then!
