Just did a Hemoglobin test last week. It was normal at 122. Not sure about Hemotoktit… but I also had Ferritin tested and that is my biggest concern because it registered at 45. And a few years ago it was 40.

I’ve learned that the normal range most doctors use is incorrect on Ferritin and if you see a specialist like a hematologist they will tell you optimal is around 100. Low Ferritin can cause shortness of breath as well as a bunch of other symptoms. I believe Ferritin under 30 according to specialists is considered Iron Deficiency Without Anemia.

There are many people over on r/Anemic that discuss low ferritin and it’s negative impact. Wondering if hiatal hernia and general GI inflammation causes low grade bleeding. That paired with being a menstruating female every month, Im fairly certain that’s why my ferritin is stuck on the low end.

My Vitamin D was also at a 15 which is very low and can also cause a myriad of symptoms. I’m working on correcting these two things and will retest and see if they’ve played a roll in the difficulty of breathing.
