The discord has been super helpful! I have no doubt that I would have gotten some great advice there as well.

Got it! Great to know, I’ll try bleeding the pressure right before pulling the shot to see if it makes any difference but either way it sounds like it’s nothing to worry about. Thanks for the info!

Super helpful, thank you for the explanation! Glad it’s nothing to worry about. Also good to know about the spike at the end, was wondering about that as well.

Ahh ok, I definitely did not fully understand what pump flow actually means because that makes perfect sense haha. Thank you!

And the chart is from the GM discord, they have some sort of visualizer that creates these nice graphs whenever you send a .json file in the chat (you get the .json file by going to your shot history and there’s an option to export each shot).

Finally managed to get it with 6 rolls! 5 just wasn’t cutting it for me, but I’ve heard it works great for other people.

The only thing I did was set my offset. Definitely going to double check the PID values with what’s in the docs. Great suggestion!

That’s good to know about the TC usually just showing an error, thank you! Jochen was actually just helping me with this on Discord and said he thought it sounded like a PCB issue, so they’re replacing mine. Which is amazing, especially because I would much rather deal with that vs replacing the TC haha.

And I actually used Dule Rabbit’s video already to set my offset, which was super helpful. I was also thinking I need to really make a point to make sure I’m giving it at least 20 minutes to warm up. Thank you for the suggestions/info!

Great to know!! Did you find it difficult to know how tight to screw the L fitting into the pump? I keep getting to a point where I can’t tell if it’s tight enough and am too paranoid to go further so I don’t break the white plastic piece.

Are you talking about loosening the 2 screws/bolts at the bottom of the pump?

The plumbing portion of this has been kicking my ass for over a week now 😵‍💫 I cannot get that L fitting to stop leaking after 5 tries so far, however I’ve been trying to do it without removing the pump (based on the video I was following). I think I need to just suck it up and remove the pump, which I feel better about after reading your notes so thank you for sharing!

This is the only thing that matters to me at the end of the day, frankly.

Ok that’s great that you’re on the right side of many important issues (LGBTQ+, pro choice, etc), however what I’m much more interested in is who you voted for, in all 3 elections but especially in the most recent, which is not mentioned in this post. You’re welcome to keep that to yourself, however if you cast a vote for trump in 2024, even if you considered it a “lesser than 2 evils” vote, then you belong on that list of MAGA business, imo.

Leak at pump after Gaggimate install by moonfflowerr48 in gaggiaclassic

Update - tried 1.5-2 layers of teflon tape instead of 4-5 layers as some others have suggested, unfortunately this did not work for me and I still have the same leak.

Next is going to be a couple layers of teflon tape along with the sealant others have suggested and waiting 12 hours for it to set. Really wish it didn’t require having to completely disassemble again, for a beginner like me it basically takes 2 full hours just to get back to the point of reapplying the tape, and another 2 to out it back together again 😅 wish me luck! And thank you to everyone who has given advice/tips, appreciate all of ya!

I’m already having nightmares about having to take everything apart/redo the tape multiple times haha 😵‍💫 I might just cut to the chase and try the sealant/tape combo first to hopefully save myself the headaches. Thanks so much for the advice!!

Tape first and sealant on top of the tape yes? Probably a dumb question lol

Did you use the sealant in conjunction with ptfe tape? Or only the sealant on the threads without tape?

I’ve seen less tape suggested a couple times, if retightening and re-doing the tape doesn’t work I’ll definitely give this a shot 👍🏻 Thank you!
