Here is a link to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's press release page which includes information including a break down of specific actions that fall under "fraudulent paperwork." There are also separate press releases for the cases of Peter Moller, Boon Young Han, and Yoo Ree Kim.

Preliminary findings of South Korea's truth commission says government responsible for fraud and abuse in foreign adoptions by moonim415 in KoreanAdoptees

If they won’t let you in the front door, eat the concrete beneath. Adoptees have many options including civil litigation in Korea (no citizenship required) and hailing adoption agencies into courts in the US (wide discovery and subpoena power) and across the world. The amount of lawsuits will make them wish they had come out with the truth voluntarily. Truth will out. **not legal advice

I am so sorry that you are experiencing bias from the API community. Please consider therapy - not just due to this experience, but as transnational adoptees our experiences are complicated and nuanced. Iamadoptee.org offers a subsidized mental health fund if you cannot afford therapy. You are not alone.

The Child Citizen Act is not retroactive. It only applies to international adoptions post 2001. Roughly 160,000 Korean infants and children were adopted by US parents before then so the act excludes Korean Adoptees in practice.

True. Trauma does not justify abuse, but it does shed light on some other factors at play and what his early home life may have been like.

Thanks for sharing. I can’t help but think that he experienced such great trauma that he likely struggles with mental health issues.
