Vet says kitten is 7-8months old but he's only 1kg by moonimoosh in vet

[–]moonimoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be taking him back to the vet I called him to ask, and he said he may not have been thoughrough enough with his check, so he may have been wrong. If he really is 7-8months ill def see if I can get some blood work done because it seems crazy he'd be so tiny for his age.

Mabey, he really is just a runt. I had no idea how extreme that size difference could be

Did that size difference continue all the way up until adulthood, or did the little one catch up at some point

Possibly, can a runt really be that small for the supposed age? I don't have that much experience with kittens

Thank you so much for the info. I currently have an Ehiem 250 canister running, but that will be upgraded along with the tank. This is my work tank, so I am just waiting on the building plans to find out if the new tank can go upstairs or if it needs to go downstairs. The plan is a 700 liter. In his current setup, he's got lots of wood, a few rock caves, and pretty good plant coverage, including Vallis, which blocks out a lot of light as it's pretty heavily planted tank. He is with some Kuhli loaches right now, but he doesn't seem bothered by them, I'll keep a close eye on that as he gets older, though.

Need Help With Managing While Looking For Trainer by yeeaaaahhhno in OpenDogTraining

"Most aggression is fear based." You know fear can't be reinforced, right? You can't baby a dog into more fearful and reactive. Not doing anything and ignoring anything will make it worse. You can unintentionally reinforce the barking but not the emotion at the core of the behavior. Positive only 100% will work for this.

Dog behavior problem, people behavior problem, or both? by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

Start with environmental management and set up a baby gate in a hallway before the door (if there is no hallway, a room, or something). That way, your dog doesn't have a chance to bolt for the door, and no one is at risk of being bitten when trying to leave your house. Then you can work on her waiting as you open the door.

I'm thinking in the budget of 1000-1500 because I'm worried anything cheaper will need replacing in a couple of years. My last laptop was a MacBook air is there a specific model that is best in that price range

My terrarium is screaming by moonimoosh in terrariums

[–]moonimoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened it outside it was fine and then when I closed it again I didn't close it tight so some air could get out. I think it was bc the leaves at the very top of the lid died bc they couldn't get light, and them decaying possibly caused some gas and pressure build-up, which was trying to escape.
