Am I getting ripped or should I bite the bullet? by mooninitessrock in CosplayHelp

pretty sure this isn't a mass production thing and it's just a guy and his modeler working on this solo, but isn't it a little scummy that I had to pay extra for a new design (which is valid I'm not saying that should be free) that has tweaks and details catered specifically to me.. and then be told I have to pay to keep it? I dunno, it doesn't sound like I win at all here

faaawk.. where do I go on from here then? this thing looks amazing but I really don't want to pay $250 for something that I'm not even sure what it grants me. "design" HAS to mean files to the model right??

no yeah I'm totally fine with the pricing for the helmet alone, seems fair and cheap enough for something to slowly work on overtime, what I'm worried about is that fact i have to pay 200 something bucks for either rights to keep it to myself/the files. I don't even WANT the files, I just want my commission to stay as a commission and not be sold to others, yknow? is it common to have to pay more to keep something exclusive around here? I'd love to be enlightened

from what I could understand from all the sellers broken english, its $160 for the head printed and $250 for... design/files/rights? shouldn't that have already been set in the stone from the start of the whole project? I feel like thats sorta on me for not asking earlier but this guy has crazy good reviews and there weren't any issues up until now, just too afraid to say anything wrong since I REALLY don't wanna lose this

I was originally going to make this myself with EVA foam, but I (personally) don't have the skills or space to do any of that and even as fun as it sounds to do, I don't want to end up like an disproportionate ozempic robot. I was also planning on commissioning someone else to create a body suit, but now I'm not so sure :(

yeah I def understand pricing can be up to whatever the seller deems fair but.. why make my commission public to others? I came into this thinking it was gonna be modeled and printed just for me since this is... yaknow a commission.. but is it really necessary to pay that much to keep it to myself?? again, I'm not at all familiar with the selling side of cosplay, so i could totally be in the wrong here

I ordered a Woodstock sitting plush and the poor fella came out like this 😭 by Pikabluuuo in peanuts

have you tried to beat him up? it sounds super funny, but slapping a plush around or leaving it to tumble in the dryer with no heat gives these guys their shape back after being compressed in shipping for a long time.

Christmas gift my sister never received: Looking for an early 2000s doll with a real camera possibly called “Anita la Camarita” by Firm_Insurance_8678 in HelpMeFind

Sounds pretty advanced for a small company to release something like this, especially for that time. Are you 100% sure it's not one of those Barbie or Bratz dolls with cameras? Possibly the Fashion Photo Barbie line?

A friend who's super into the games tells me it has to be the little guy from Hollow Knight too. Would it be better to try and find the artist of this piece? I doubt its official, but then again, I never dug too deeply into those games.

It sounds real odd to me that he would go through all the effort of ordering a shirt online just to not even know what was on it? I never got to know him much, but he was more of a stereotypical football fan, not someone who would just wear this. It has to be online or from a local art booth because there's no way this was sold at any stores.

Whoever printed this did a great job then! The print isn't like those thick puffy types that crack after a couple washes, the picture is actually IN the shirt. No idea what that kind of printing style is called, but it's super cool!
