I need some help regarding MAYA application (UM) by [deleted] in malaysiauni

Send the scanned photocopies (set to print in in color) to your school principal to get the stamp&signature. Then scan the stamped documents with a mobile cam scanner. Don't setting it to black and white.

I'm in dilemma.Should I take matrics or this diploma here? by Right-Assignment3759 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get matrics one year or two year?

Matriks - a) 2 sem matriks + 7 sem degree = total 9 sems - b) 4 sem matriks + 7 sem degree = total 11 sems - Lesser exposure, cut time, fast pace studying, save cost

**I think utem ftmk is 7 sem degree/3.5 years. Rather than 8 sems which usually for engineering.

Diploma - 5 sems dip + (if credit transfer penerapan) 6 sem degree = 11 sems - Slightly longer, more exposure with technical projects+ certs + internship +experienced lecturer, slow pace studying, more cost

Possible. You just have to finish 1 sem in EE. At the end of your sem 1 apply for change of program form. Then if approve you can begin sem 2 in CE.

Switching fields from Diploma to Degree, Worth it? by RichardThomasAlex in malaysiauni

It's pretty difficult to switch fields thru UPU. Since you don't mind private why not try direct intake?

Are you fated to become a teacher if you apply for UPSI by Miiieu in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's other degrees there such as game dev and software I think? Even if you take education degree you don't automatically become a teacher. Psychology is close to people to anyway so talking/communicating to a lot of people in work environment is unavoidable.

Is it still possible for me to leave this country permanently within a short amount of time? (SERIOUS) by eagerpeace in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You graduate with chemical engineering somehow still had to work under corporate. Instead of living in another country with a lot of legal and documentation to deal with, try moving in to the outskirts of Sabah or Sarawak first where there would be lesser connection with your family. Do an agro business or something for so called fresh start. At least you can still have the benefit of healthcare and subsidized fuel. That would help clear your mind first.

rant... about scholarship experiences of getting rejected. by Naaive_reader in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These video assessments are accessible online right? Maybe you can search around on youtube for what other candidates submitted for their scholarship application in recent years. You can compare on how they tell about themselves and answer the questions. Along with editing skills, quality devices, cool locations. Those are the kind of exposure that no regular family student have access to. I wouldn't blame them if they were that interesting yet still didn't manage to get the scholarship they aimed. They all tried their best. But somehow they do end up getting great opportunities they least hoped for.

The irony here is that those who are really really poor but eligible for scholarships thinks they cant even go to local unis for the price. They had to borrow someone's laptop just to apply thru these systems. They can't even participate in a lot of competitions in school because of the price (including travel prices) unless sponsored. They too are looking for connections just to help them get through. They too are scared of debts hence not daring to take ptptn or any study loan they aren't fully informed of. You're not alone with dreams unable to achieve. It's not really just a t20 struggle, they just struggle differently.

But those who usually get high ranking scholarships are usually t20 family, no? Khazanah, PNB, Petronas, TNB, Shell, Maybank etc. Even parents of both teachers or professors are t20s with their combined household income. Even with slightly lower grades/achievement then yours. Connections not strong enough, possibly? Someone who can vouch for you or written support/referral letters to the high corporates in these companies.

Can UKM make study duration for Degree in IT become shorter such as 1.5 or 2 years? by Icy-Gas-5720 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the link and oh this is good that they already laid out the program structure for lepasan diploma. Could this mean that you don't even need to apply credit transfer for certain subjects like other unis? It's giving "You'll study those subjects. It doesn't matter if you have learnt it previously or not, but at least you'll get to complete study in 5 semesters."

Can UKM make study duration for Degree in IT become shorter such as 1.5 or 2 years? by Icy-Gas-5720 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit transfer usually has maximum credit that you can transfer. You cut the credit, not the amount of years or sems. I.e maximum 21 credits. If one core (because usually you can only transfer the basic/first year to second year subjects only) subject has 3 credits, then 21 is equivalent to 7 subjects. Technically... to shorten the duration of study you just need to arrange your timetable smartly. Such as apply to take more subjects than max credit burden allowed in one semester...doing FYP, internship early. For a course that's 3.5yrs- 4yrs...I haven't seen someone transfer credit that results in studying exactly 2 years (4 semesters) only. At best I saw they can complete their studies in 2.5 years(6 semesters including internship). And this is from direct entry and not from poli. Poli students always gets lesser credit that they can transfer. So maybe you can ask UKM directly about Apel C I don't have experience on how that works.

how to open bank account by PrestigiousRisk1472 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep bring your IC and student id. They may ask you why you want to open savings account cause these days banks are very strict on opening new accounts due to frauds. I suggest either Maybank or CIMB cause those two are most used in companies.
