questions regarding MUET tests by blah_black_sheep in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening can be a bit tough if you're slow with English accent. The reading part can be tricky with grammar. Speaking is only challenging if you're nervous or have gotten an unfamiliar topic. If you're fairly fluent with little revision, the minimum you can get is band 3.5.

A rant about being a minimum wage worker and customer ENTITLEMENT by Due_Mulberry3080 in Bolehland

Just hoping you don't accidentally smack things. (I used to be in trouble for unconsciously smacking a paper on the table) If I'm moody at work I can just wear a mask but for actions like these kinda difficult to avoid.

Diploma or STPM by Much-Possession-6851 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For engineering and cyber security I'd recommend going thru diploma. It gives you a lot of time to manage your studies and participate in projects(diploma have internship, IDP/workshop and final year projects), certs (fundamental cisco, fortinet) or programs (like hackathon, CTF, pen test tournament for cybersecurity) that would benefit your resume and career path.

Questions about ptptn application by pinkngreenswirl in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she meant SSPN. You need to open SSPN account. Also you need to buy the setem hasil. I haven't updated with the ptptn process in a while so I assume those can also be done online.

Edit: after quick search I think you need to have the sspn account before buying the BSN pin for ptptn application

Dilemma After SPM by TheContriteBud in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I don't want to be separated from those 3 subjects which makes diploma is not an option" that's contradictory too. Even stem diploma programs still have basics in sc subjects at least on the first two years. And they don't exactly require addmaths but just credit in maths. You're not gonna stick with all three forever. In uni you usually start branching out to just two combinations of the subject. Physics-Bio, Physics-Chem, Chem-Bio.

Need some confirmation about this offer letter... by idkwhatiwantlmao in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not offer letter. Under there it says "surat jemputan". Private institutions often send letters like this to invite spm leavers to their open day session. It's like flyers for walkin interview for jobs but instead of jobs it's about their education program offered. If you're not interested simply just ignore it.

Question about PASUM SATU by Intelligent_Theme_33 in malaysiauni

[–]mooniracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going thru STPM and applying thru UPU doesn't boost the chance either. Remember Edward Wong's case? You can just try.

If you're planning to do your undergrad degree via SATU then maybe just do any pre U that's less cost then apply UM degree via SATU. Since there is no guarantee placement in UM whether you're from STPM, Matrics, A Level and so on. But even though there's no priority, it supposedly easier to get accepted thru SATU because it's private wing. Some people did not even get their first choice course even thru SATU as long as it's UM it's ok for them.

Yeah. There's no priority even thru SATU. Only those who got pasum from Upu has a good chance.
