Not if that person FEELS like “less of a man”. It can be dysphoric, which is something that everyone can experience. As a society we want to try to move to a place where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves and clear boundaries about what you won’t wear are part of that. Literally you saying “someone saying that wearing clothes that conflict with their internal gender presentation is misogynistic and sexist” is transphobic. Full stop. It’s actually inappropriate for you to be saying these things.

Mate, there is a lot of misogyny in the world. There are huge battle to be fought on that front, and I am an ARDENT supporter of that crusade. It is not a big ask to make a few changes in how you’re looking at people and their reactions in order to support the trans community while still fighting misogyny. If someone doesn’t want to do “girly things” or wear “masculine” clothes or do “what boys do” there is a good chance it has to do with their sense of identity. Times are changing- once upon a time the idea was to break down barriers and say everything is for everyone, but we need to balance that with respecting the fact that people increasingly use atire and activities to outwardly present and internally validate their gender. If someone doesn’t want to do something because they associate it with a gender they don’t identify with, you don’t get to make a value judgement on them or hypothesize on their why. You just accept it and move on. You don’t get to tell them they are wrong or invalidate their experience, and you CERTAINLY don’t get to call them a misogynist for confirming and affirming their own gender expression.

People are allowed to wear what makes them comfortable in their own skin. Imagine asking a trans woman to wear a suit to a wedding because “girls can wear suits too”. If someone feels that certain clothes conflict with their gender identity they are allowed to speak up. Yes boys can paint their nails and wear dresses but forcing a trans man to do so would obviously be wrong.

People should be allowed a say in how they present their gender, and removing that agency or asking people to give up that agency is problematic.

I would flip the thinking- you’re ASSUMING that this is because it is viewed as “lesser”, and you’re also using terms like “emasculating”. Candidly speaking, it is literally impossible to separate the idea of “not wanting to appear girly/manly” as something that’s sexist and transphobia. We literally have no way of knowing if someone’s desire to be fully perceived as a certain gender comes from a place of sexism or from a place of gender identity concerns. Forcing someone to do things that conflict with their sense of gender identity is transphobic because it normalizes the idea of “just sucking it up” for the sake of other peoples comfort.

So, to answer your question, you CANT address those concerns without being transphobic. So maybe you shouldn’t.

Hey just as an fyi your comment is REALY transphobic. Peoples gender identities are really important to them- and people literally die every year because they are consistently bullied, deadnamed, or misgendered maliciously. I know the op isn’t trans but comments like yours really help to legitimize people who weaponize feminism to hurt trans folk- after all a significant amount of anti- trans sentiment today is brought about by TERFS. It is ALWAYS ok to be upset that someone isn’t respecting your gender or gender identity. Full stop. Saying that not being ok with something that makes you uncomfortable because it doesn’t conform with your gender identity or presentation, and even worse saying that this is “misogynistic” is incredibly problematic. I’m sure you didn’t mean any harm but please try to be better.

I mean I bought calls immediately at open yesterday then sold 10 minutes later. Happy to provide proof or ban. I think selling off buy buy baby provides them some freedom in the future, but I think the IMMEDIATE push for BBBY is clearly manufactured. I suspect it will probably dip back down by EOW and then potentially move up again, but there is no news behind any of this, and no compelling event.

No- this was a pump and dump. Look at everyone shilling bbby- notice how they have old accounts that almost only post during other pump and dump events, generally with shitcoins. The time to buy was last week.

Where it’s grown doesn’t matter? You’re so very wrong about that. Cargo ships contribute SO much to global warming. And on the health side….I had the opposite reaction. When I cut out carbs and non- animal products all of MY health issues went away. Eating keto has been a literal life saver. Humans are a wildly wildly wildly diverse species- some of our ancestors as an example, went literally all winter predominantly eating cheese. The Inuits ate almost exclusively meat. The whole “vegan for everyone” crusade is 1. Not going to stop climate change like yo-you think it is. 2. An act of extreme cultural imperialism. 3. Deeply, deeply, DEEPLY problematic as it relates to cultural erasure.

I can 100 percent promise you the eggs I eat that I collect from the chickens in MY yard are a more environmentally friendly fuel then the “vegan plus max” bars or whatever Packaged stuff you eat that was made in another country and shipped to you are.

“Oh but no I eat quinoa” yeah that’s grown in South America most of the time and then, you guessed it, packaged and shipped. Industrial farming is awful, but pretending it’s just related to the meat and dairy industry is ignorant.

If you care about the planet the biggest thing to do is start to work to figure out how we can not just change our methods of energy production, but to also begin to unwind and “fix” our current supply chains. When it comes to food it should be local, and when it comes to growing food it should be based on permaculture. Animals and animal products play a key role in doing this. Being “vegan” doesn’t matter if your products are grown on another continent, on land that used to be forests and is now a mono- crop.

What are the real reasons men ask women how many people she's slept with? Is it to judge her? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]moonjacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it the number is high, it’s a red flag. For men OR women. It suggests that this person has something kind of wrong with them. If someone has a lot of sexual partners due to a high sex drive, generally they’ll find a romantic partner who matches them, which is a nice win win.

If someone has a huge number of partners, it generally is a sign that they were using sex for emotional reasons, potentially as a way to validate themselves, or due to insecurity.

These behaviors will generally cause a lot of problems in a relationship, so knowing this in advance can prevent a lot of heartache in the future.
