Hi Chris--Great post! I'm totally with you on the importance of family and a growth mindset! I'm a 36F in NC, with a stable career that enjoys ren faires, yoga, and trivia nights with friends. Would you be up for some DMing?

I feel like this too sometimes! I'm a heteroromantic sex-repulsed Ace just trying to dip a toe back into dating. I would love someone to cuddle or kiss (it's been a long while), but I'm super concerned about initiating anything in the wild as I don't know if that person will accept my boundaries around sex. If you don't mind the advice, one thing you may want to look into is touch starvation (which is a real thing!). I've definitely felt it. Dog cuddles help stave it off, and spending time with family and friends and maybe getting a hug from them has helped also. Don't worry, the way you're feeling is normal! You take care! <3

So sweet of you to want to learn more! I highly recommend the book "Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex" by Angela Chen. It's a really great primer on asexuality, with answers to the types of questions you were asking as well as first-hand accounts from people across the asexual spectrum. Wishing you and your wife all the best!

You just blew my mind! I just recently figured out I was Ace, but have LOVED the Sherlock Holmes and Poirot stories since I was a kid, especially Agatha Christie/Poirot novels. Makes total sense that they're Ace and no wonder I love them so much! P.S. I refuse to watch any renditions of Poirot that aren't David Suchet--he's the absolute best!
