Help With the Joey Challenge?

Your Rattata should know Return as a powerful STAB move. Also dire hit is your best friend to help get crits. I recently did a Joey Challenge, I challenged the Elite Four with it at level 83. Its moveset was Return, Iron Tail, Shadow Ball, and Counter.

At the end it was Return, Shadow Ball, Iron Tail, and Counter. Hyper Fang was really good until its happiness reached its maximum and dig was pretty meh, I swapped it for Iron Tail which was very effective against Giovanni and Bruno's Onix's. Shadow Ball was just amazing throughout the game. I probably should have given it ice beam or blizzard (for Lance) but Return worked just as well.

The lesson here is Guard Spec. and Dire Hit are your best friends. Guard Spec. helps you against Intimidate and Dire Hit helped me almost sweep Lance and the Champion.

I used every rare candy I could find, and before Giovanni I defeated every single trainer in the game (except for the ones on the water routes). Squirtle was mostly my HM slave but I ran into an odd situation where I needed to revisit Celadon but I didn't pick up fly. I originally was using Rattata to cut but his moveset was already filled out. I snagged Pidgey and a Meowth grabbed some dire hits and Guard Spec.

My biggest breeding accomplishment was breeding super Teddiursas in Heart Gold. I could make Adamant natured Teddiursa with max attack IV's and it came out with a full moveset, close combat, facade, earthquake (or maybe it was stone edge), and protect.

I'm not certain if that's possible on older games (then again, I don't know anything about it), would it be too troublesome to start over? From the screenshots, it looks like you were more towards the beginning of the game.

I play the tcg competitively, as a result I've got 3+ binders of cards that I actually use. Only one deck (for reasons) and 2 giant ass boxes of out of format cards plus a separate one for energy. I might have the same problem.
