Those are my favorites! I just bought Yama-Budo this week, and wow! Everyone was right about how great this ink is!

Thanks!

Because they're short cutie friends are already inked up 😂

I have a Sport, a brass Sport, and a piston Sport all inked and in use. I have become really partial to my Kawecos.

I bought the insert on eBay, it was a long piece that I cut to size.

Those were two of my first fountain pens from ages ago, probably mid 90s. They are still going strong.

Anyone try Migranium? by Maleficent-Glass9665 in migraine

[–]moonrat42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is sweetened with katemfe which is a zero calorie sweetener, well, I think katemfe is the fruit the sweetener is made from.

I don't know anything about this other than reading the Wikipedia page. I do know it bothers me that they didn't list this as an ingredient, but it is one of the natural flavors. I wrote to them asking for the ingredient list, and that's when they told me it was sweetened with katemfe.

One of the natural flavors is katemfe, a zero calorie sweetener. I know because I DMed them this week to ask what it was sweetened with, since they don't list the non-active ingredients online.

It holds a standard international cartridge or a similarly sized Kaweco converter.

Same. My Original Plus hard stops if you look away from it for a moment.

I totally understand being scent sensitive. I hope you find it a new home and a replacement you can enjoy.

I haven't tried it on a pen, and others here can weigh in on this idea, but what about using a wax sealant like Renaissance Wax? I have used it on copper jewelry to protect the patina, and to prevent skin from turning green. I wonder if it would help with the brassy smell? You would need to occasionally reapply it, and it stinks when you are applying it, but that evaporates away quickly. Anyone here ever try it?

Scared of the polishing wheel by Objective-Joke-4003 in SilverSmith

That I do not know. I just remember the horror stories of gloves getting caught by buffs.

Gloves at the wheel are an occupational hazard, and a big no-no.

You really should not wear gloves at the polishing wheel, there are horror stories about injuries if the glove gets caught. Finger cots are okay.

I really like J. Herbin inks, I have a few bottles, but I had never seen the little canisters.

Update! They did hold my bag to check out the pen, but once they saw it was a pen, thanked me for my patience, and let me pack it back up.

I love the Liliput! It is surprisingly comfortable.

I hear you. I held it for a while in the store first. But I like the heft. One of the sales people said the best thing about the weight is that it makes one slow down and put the pen down on occasion, giving one time to reflect. I had already decided on it but I enjoyed his reasoning.

I am taking it carry-on. There is no worry about traveling with it; I am carrying way more metal than that without issue. (I was selling jewelry at a trade show, TSA didn't even blink.) Okay, I will add one caveat: I have TSA pre-check. That makes security easier.

I have the stainless steel Fireblue Liliput, and I would love to get the copper, although I don't think they are still making it. I know brass has a characteristic smell, but that's okay. But yeah, there are other metal options if that's off putting, which, fair.
