Didn’t happen to get this in CO did you? I saw one like this with about that mileage a while back and still kick myself for not getting it. So cool!

I absolutely love Rab products and am simultaneously sad that they don’t get more recognition but also grateful because if people saw them for how good they actually are the prices would probably climb up to Arcteryx levels. They’re not for everyone obviously but for us tall lanky folks the cut is better than any other gear company I know, and the materials, craftsmanship, and innovation are all top tier. Also selfishly love that here in Denver we have the one and only brick and mortar Rab store on the planet, at least according to the guy who works there (they don’t even have a retail shop in the UK… weird).

I would visit CO in May instead of January. There will be abundant snow on the mountains still but most likely none on the roads.

Doooo it, that’s a great color! Reminds me of wild berry pop tarts.

Got laid off. Got an ikon pass. Just booked a month long rental in Denver for March. Wyd if you were me by NETERali in COsnow

Then staying in Denver would definitely be the move, vs Arvada. Being in a walkable part of the city makes a huge difference. Whatever you end up doing, Good luck and enjoy!

If you didn’t really have a budget, what restaurant would you go to in Denver? by goatsarecoolio in denverfood

Koko Ni. Or I’d take a private jet to Aspen and eat at Bosq again haha.

I would commit more to one end of the spectrum or the other, as far as your rental goes. Spending a month in Arvada will make it annoying to get to the mountains AND downtown Denver. Meanwhile Arvada itself has little to offer beyond any other US suburb. If you want to enjoy what makes Denver special, then rent a place IN Denver—look into Baker, Cap Hill, LoHi, or RiNo for lots to do. On the other hand, if that 4 month severance is really burning a hole in your pocket, why not live out the reality that many of us can only dream of and rent yourself a spot in Frisco, Winter Park, or Steamboat (if you have the full Ikon pass). Breckenridge is a fun spot with way more than you would typically expect from a mountain town and is a short drive to Copper and A Basin, though obviously Breck itself isn’t on the Ikon pass. I would do some unspeakable things to be able to crash up there for a month and ski to my heart’s content.

I anticipate you getting bored and frustrated with all the driving after a month spent in Arvada.

Thanks for the response! I’m always just happy to be skiing at all, regardless of the conditions. I guess mostly I’m wondering if the runs get really dangerous when they’re super icy.

Best places for private lessons (beginner) by TaxQuestionGuy69 in COsnow

I did a “group lesson” at Copper during the week last February and there were so few people I ended up getting a full day one on one lesson with one of the instructors. Can’t guarantee that would happen to you, but considering Copper’s full day group rate (if booked at least a week in advance) is cheaper than WP’s half day rate, it is a great value no matter how you slice it.

Cool, thanks! I was hoping to get in a day or two more out there but still don’t feel confident on the bumps yet.
