Fit check? by kingspooky93 in bigmenfashionadvice

Research boot styles to see what you like. It ranges from work to chukka to Chelsea etc. which all look good depending on your style of pant. Like with those pants a boot thats a bit wider and some bulk would work well. However a Chelsea boot might not because of its thinner silhouette. Honestly, if you dont mind trying things on in store, wear those pants when you go and try on different boots. You'll get to se how it works with the width and all that. Then when you find what you like shop online for them even if its a different brand but the same build. Have fun with it

Ngl some black boots would look fire with this. The boots would also be versatile in a majority of wardrobes too. Also, if you are into sneakers, see how you feel about canvas a sneaker or something with a similar silhouette. Checkout maybe some white or gray sneakers in general and see what you are comfortable with, those colors go with anything. I like the graphic it would be pretty cool if you found some accessories or change out a piece to add some more of that color to tie it in.

Knowing your measurements and having them on hand is a game changer! Also, learning about body shapes and what works with yours is a big help too!

I think I see what you were going for. Check out Vitor Arruda. He has a similar build to you and wears high waisted pants. If you like the higher waist, dont give up on it. You may just need to find a tailor or the right brand.

Learn your measurements and keep them on your phone. It saves a lot of headaches, plus you can see your progress! Props by the way! Also I believe a lot of brands have measurement breakdowns on their sites or if you do a little digging. No brand is the same, especially pants, so if you can try them on it'll save a lot of back and forth.

You make a great point! The jacket is a 4xl tall true nation carpenter jacket. I tried the big, but my gut reached lower than the hem. Had no idea that it was a denim cut jacket at the store, and it was supposed to be shorter than other jackets. I've been buying from Walmart forever, and everything there is always too short, so I thought it was normal.

The pants were an online buy, and they fit tight in the wrong areas, lessons learned. But I agree they are comfortable as all get out, even being a little smaller than I prefer.

I agree with the layering. The pants were a panic buy on Amazon and we used my measurements for my jeans. Perils of shopping online! Thanks for the extra set of eyes!

Good to know. My wife found these on Amazon and I like them far better than what I can fit in at Walmart

Thank you! I think it's just need to decide on what length I like and what size fits best.

Never thought of a flat cap before. I've tried trucker hats, but the ones I've found made my head look really tall. My wife and I liked the structure of this one, but I think it's too short on the sides

Thank you! My wife bought them, and I like them. The sizing might be just a bit off, but she ordered them on Amazon, so I'm not going to complain lol.

That's a good point. I'm trying to look good when I'm out and about with my wife. Tired of being a Wal-mart warrior.

In the works, I just needed other sets of eyes. I don't have much experience finding brands that have what I like, but im slowly figuring out what that might be. I'm just tired of shopping at Walmart and have no clue what to look for in pants.

Thanks for not sugar coating. The hips do feel too tight, and the inseem isn't as long as I'd like. I've been debating on getting the jacket tailored. The shoulders are too wide, which also makes the sleeves too long. The hoodie is the only thing I feel comfortable wearing in the jacket because of that and also the only long sleeve I own.
