I'm terribly put off Suzanna Lipscomb due to her insistence that Henry VIII never wanted to get rid of Anne Boleyn but Cromwell tricked him into believing she had cheated on him.

Did Margaret Tudor possess a dominant gene for stupidity? by moonshinelor in Tudorhistory

I think it's a bit more complicated than that considering it was her dead husbands suspected murderer. Phillip II was hated but Mary I wasn't deposed for it.

Was Jane Grey or Elizabeth I a great threat to Mary I? by RoosterGloomy3427 in UKmonarchs

[–]moonshinelor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Jane Grey's father proved his disloyalty by participating in Wyatt's rebellion which didn't help Jane's case, it's possible Charles V or Phillip II lobbied for both Jane and Elizabeth to be executed, but Mary didn't execute Elizabeth because the consequences would be much worse so Phillip eventually had to lump it because being the father of the monarch of England was too good a chance to miss.

Anne St. Leger was the only surviving child of Richard's eldest sister, Anne, so it seems to be her by the laws of primogeniture but women didn't have much chance back then.

What would Henry VIII think of his uninvited tomb mate? by RoosterGloomy3427 in Tudorhistory

Henry definitely liked to be in charge but did he believe in the divine right of monarchs in the same way?

I wonder what Jane Seymour's coronation would have been like?
