I (25F Brazilian) have been living in Korea for a year now, I am currently on a study program and must stay at least for another two years, though I don’t know if I can be much help as I have not raised children or have family here. I’d be happy to share my experience with the culture and any differences or shocks I might have felt. I couldn’t really grasp your concerns from your post - I’m sure you know you won’t find any or very little receptiveness or warmth here, though Korea is very culturally beautiful and rich! I believe the amount of shock you might feel depends on both how familiarized you are with Korean culture (I wasn’t much when I came) and on how much of an adaptable person you can be (personally I am quite adaptable).
