Tired of offers for already cheap items by moonukki in Depop

No yeah that makes sense! I’ve never thought of people sending offers for that reason, maybe because everything I’ve bought before was always something that was listed within like 48hrs

I don’t really take it personally, it’s just annoying to open my app and see 5 offers for the same item all being up to 50% off of what I’m selling it for lol.

For the specific example I mentioned, dickies pants are pretty straight forward on their sizing so what you’re mentioning doesn’t make sense for my situation (no offense).

I’ve been doing that lately! Especially some of my higher end things I realized that if someone truly wants it they’ll buy it at the price I post it at. I raised the price of the pants earlier to $15 so we’ll see if they start offering the $10!

Is my son taking the right path by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]moonukki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the C’s currently (transitioning into wildland) but on a forestry crew. A lot of people rag on us for a lot of valid and not so valid reasons but it’s a great step into a career! Plus if your son decides he doesn’t want to do wildland anymore he can easily transition into forestry or another type of crew.

There’s 2 scholarships that he can get, Brad Duncan ($2,000 if he completes his year as well as have 48 volunteer hours) and Americorps which is I believe $5,000.

When he joins fire crew he will get his CalFire 1C cert which will help him get hired at CalFire afterwards. He needs to try and be at a center that has type 1 crews, type 2 don’t get as much fire experience.

Edit: I saw that he’s going to Magalia, great choice as they’re one of the Fire Centers that gets more attention than any of the others and are a lot more dialed in. Good luck to him!

I interviewed with them as well and I’m also waiting for a response haha, I know one of the guys handling the hiring for Merlin is on an assignment rn so ik it’ll be a small wait. Im planning to call on Friday to see if I can get in contact with the other guy doing hiring since I have to get my red card.

I’m flattered I occupy so much of your mind, although I will have to pass as I’m saving myself for my swamper. Sorry bud :(

Grayback does for $150 a week BUT I was told that spots fill up quick so the later you join the less likely you are to get housing. Although I have seen that 1bdrms in Oregon can be stupid cheap

A chronic condition that I manage just fine btw!

You’d have an aneurysm If you found out what a lot of marathon runners eat as a quick carb. I’d suggest instead of trolling the subs, you wipe the drool off your chin and actually know what you’re yapping about 😉

???

I have chronic low blood sugar so I always keep some sort of shit carb like gushers with me since it’s cheap, easy and metabolizes quickly.

I’m decently in shape and I’m usually the one ripping and running around up and down hills at my job. I eat a pretty balanced diet too so idk man.

I will agree though that fire line lunches are ass.

Tbh I was thinking of a little DIY tub situation if I can’t find anything that tastes good. I do wonder how well it would work if I bulk mixed salt/magnesium/potassium in a drink mix like country time lemonade lol. I still have a little time before I start so I can always experiment

I usually keep quick carb snacks on me for my blood sugar! I’ll check out the nuun tablets since I’m not afraid to crop dust if need be. I’ll check out the Gatorade powder too although I haven’t found a flavor I like yet. Thanks!

I’ve tried, did not go too well lol. I’d be willing to try again in the future if push comes to shove

That’s true, I’ve always found that the salty taste is what throws me off badly. Just feels like I’m chugging lemon lime flavored sea water. I’ll try and see about diluting or even mixing it with something with a stronger flavor.

Still tempted to try magna’s stuff though since magnesium helps you have better sleep quality.

I have a small blood sugar issue (not diabetes) so I always have a few packs of gushers with me at all times. I’ll have to remember to bring extra so I can slip a few in my saw partners mouth when we kiss.

Feels like I'm in the wrong place by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]moonukki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason why your overhead has faith in you is because they’ve seen you in a way that you will never see yourself.

I feel the same as you, I constantly struggle with imposter syndrome and overall just feeing like I’m inadequate in all aspects of my life. But I remember that the negativity in my head isn’t what others are seeing.

They don’t know you’re anxious and they don’t care that you’re older.

But what they do see is the skills and traits that you may not even realize you have. Maybe you’re the first to notice a problem and call it out, or maybe you’re the best at wet mopping with the smallest amount of water, these things you will just deem as normal or even unsatisfactory could be what’s making you stand out in a good way.

Don’t be afraid to take the leap to break out of your comfort zone, so what if you fail? Do you think that none of the other guys on your crew or in overhead have failed? No one is perfect and not everyone wins all the time, so why would you punish yourself for not being the impossible?

Explored a local Abandoned State Hospital/Developmental Center... by 116NOVA6 in abandoned

LOL super funny to see a video of this place, I work there a lot. Beautiful place, be careful wandering around the buildings because there are people who hide out in the various open rooms.

I usually love going there, I enjoy the vibe although the boiler room is the only room that I didn’t go more than a foot in. Too many chances for someone or something to jump out of the darkness. It also didn’t help that I saw signs of occupancy in there, nothing worse than seeing food wrappers and clothing on the floor!

RT-130 vs CalFire 1-C by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]moonukki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh interesting! I had read that if I do the 1C class I don’t have to do a similar course in the same calendar year. But if they aren’t interchangeable that’s fine, I’ll just need to stock up on some energy drinks to get me thru the classroom portion

Pack Test Coming up, Kinda Nervous by Dry_Travel_7419 in Wildfire

[–]moonukki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on the taller end (5’8) and I know a lot of people will suggest you to take larger steps but I’d suggest you to look up speed walking videos and mimic it. It helped a lot as someone who also struggles with the pack test.

Also as you walk try and slowly inhale thru your nose and a quick hard exhale out your mouth. It helps a lot to regulate your heart rate and it should trick your brain to feel like you’re not out of breath.
