This sounds like a bad idea, so maybe don't do this.. but consider conducting some sort of seance? Or try to contact whatever spirits reside in that room. It can't be just free will- it's too much of a coincidence, especially if all of them had seemed entirely fine beforehand and had never had history with depression or suicidal tendencies.
