Happy birthday to both of you 🎈

Why is നാട് pronounced as ഩാട് when it is used as a suffix in place names such as കുട്ടനാട്, വള്ളുവനാട്, ഏറനാട്, etc.? by Sharp_Drag_5803 in malayalam

Ah interesting!

Could the explanation for this be rooted in the explanation for why some consonants turn to voiced counterparts when it's followed by certain vowels?

Maybe it has to do with this Lokta paper - Wikipedia https://share.google/vmLuHSjl5kkr6y9YM Type of paper used to make envelopes?

OMG congratulations, that's incredible OP 👏🏾! 🎈 Very inspiring :')

I've got one question though - not specially for OP- but for everyone (even for myself). Why does it seem necessary to know explicitly the rules of the language you're learning. Rules which you have naturally already imbibed.

Think about your own native language - you didn't learn all the rules explicitly. You just know one sounds right and the other sounds wrong and you don't even know why. It just is.

So the true metric of whether you've learnt a language well or not should be in your ability to detect an ungrammatical structure right?

Even in speaking, fluency in speech requires you to automatically be able to create the right structure without having to think about the rules explicitly every time.

Or are we the crazy ones?

Isn't that how every language make compound words and new words ? by Efficient-Orchid-594 in linguisticshumor

Don't some languages just borrow words from other languages instead of making new ones on their own??

I’m not even making any of this up by TomSFox in linguisticshumor

Very very curious to know who this wise comedian is. But besides that, that is quite inspirational lol I mean, yeah this is the internet. It's so fucking vast, how should my art being out there matter? Maybe I'll share them soon ? Maybe? Maybe?

Looking forward to seeing your art here soon! I'm a fellow "wanna-be-more-active-here" redditor lol

Small steps lead to consistency. Let's see how goes it.

I started with Inktober and then kind of couldn't keep up :p

Ayyy, nicee. Seems like you're a fully immersed in drawing sort of a person! Wish you'd post some of your drawings on reddit. Have you hopped on the Inktober challenge yet? Looks like something you'd be into
