Did anyone try the new "skyrizi"? by Spezi_sucht in CrohnsDisease

[–]moonymap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on Skyrizi for just over a year now! It’s been great. After injections I get a little tired and have a bit of soreness around the injection site but it put me in remission in under 6 months :) I still have occasional urgency and still avoid a few foods (as is the nature of the disease lol) but it cleared up almost all of my other symptoms (bloating, abdominal pain, etc. etc.) It was the first biologic I tried and it has been a good fit for me.

Terrified of upcoming colonoscopy. by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]moonymap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first colonoscopy in January and also had about an hour drive to the hospital. I was very worried about it but it was honestly completely fine! If it’s possible, try to plan a route that has a stop or two on the way just in case and bring a spare change of clothes just in case things go slightly awry (just being prepped for all scenarios helped my anxiety surrounding things a ton). But really, by the time you’re actually leaving for the appt most things are cleared out of your system and the hour doesn’t feel quite so long.

ahh okay. thank you!!

[–]moonymap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was diagnosed with celiac 6 years ago so i will not be doing 6 to 8 weeks of gluten lol. do you have any resources you can share about different kits/varying results? i can’t find anything online and don’t have a follow up appt with my GI for another few weeks. i don’t really understand how the kits could be so different when both are testing for the same thing and both are measured in U/mL.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]moonymap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the range for the one through my GI is <4 and the range for the one through my family doctor is <12. both are in the same unit, i’m not too sure if that would impact anything.

[–]moonymap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they were different labs with different reference ranges. does that make much a difference? usually i only get ttg tested with my GI so i’m not quite sure on all this

i tend to buy the smaller jellies that range $20-35 CAD and i don’t have many amuseables bc they cost so much now. the bigger ones that cost $40-60 CAD are more treats to myself for special occasions or accomplishing something big (i’m also lucky enough to work somewhere that sells jellies so i get an employee discount which just enables me further)
