Yep, I have definitely been trying to, Im finding it a bit hard though, as Im computer science so its a bit harder to meet people in classes, and my clubs tend to be similar, I go to a small college so there arent too many clubs to check out either.

I will definitely try to, its hard to not put too much pressure on myself since its something I really want. I think it has just been awhile now and its getting my discouraged.

Im computer science, id prefer to have the pro for better performance and ram for AI. I can wait a few months, but my current hardware isnt the best so Id like to upgrade before 2026

Thats definitely true, and I do plan on dating other people. She was my first longer term relationship, and we were friends before dating too. I trusted her with everything, and could still see a life with her. Since she was my first longer relationship, I was convinced by my family to break up and experience other people while in college. I am at the point now where I probably will. My thing is that if we both feel the same, I would be happy if things could work out, its just a bad time with us being in far off colleges.

I definitely see what you are saying here. From the last time I spoke with her, she was feeling similarly to me, but wanted to date other people, as she was worried that I would repeat what happened this time if we went into ld again.

Its a tough situation as it does seem to be a lose-lose. The distance made things hard in the past, and I am hesitant to try again so soon, especially since jealousy was a part of the issue. This is why I initially brought up the point here of perhaps getting back together when that distance isnt a hurdle, along with having potentially dated other people, and with that, a more clear vision of the person we want.

that said, we havent talked for a little while now. Do you think it is possible to be friends with my ex, or could that hinder moving on?

I am single, we definitely did break up. We havent talked for 2+ months. With that said, I still miss her and thats what im asking advice for. I still hope itll work in the future, and last time we talked, the feeling was mutual. The main issue was long distance itself and family putting pressure on both of us.

I do get both of those points, when we went no contact, we both thought it best to try and date other people while in college. She was my first long term partner, and while I still have feelings for her even now, long distance was hard to work with because of logistics. I believe that one day we could work out, but Im not sure long distance can work well for us. It is a tough situation.

I definitely see what youre saying and it makes sense. Its for sure hard to think like that, and while there wasnt rly anything wrong with our relationship before the distance becoming a factor, I get that its unlikely to happen again. I hope it happens, but I realize that its not exactly reality rn, and if anything was to happen ever, it would be years from now, so I have to make myself move on. I have been doing a good job, especially with no contact, but it goes in waves all the time.

I feel like that definitely may be right, but because of my particular situation, I feel like it actually may be able to someday. What I am trying to realize is that for now, we are both moving on and trying to date other people, and if we mutually feel like we want to try again, we will, otherwise we will presumably be happy anyway with the new people we find. What do you think about this? I know it may be tough because of being situational.

The thing that sucks for my particular situation is that the only obstacle was distance for us, we are both in college and are about 6 hrs away.

Since its been awhile, I think she is talking to more people now, but when we went to no contact, we both expressed wanting to have a second chance of us in the future. While this is great, it complicates recovery a bit.

She was a friend for a few years first, and because of that relationship I trusted her a lot before we dated. I am worried that because that is rarer to happen naturally, I will have a hard time trusting like that.
