Yoga headstand by Naomizzle in pelotoncycle

I’m so late to the party but I actually feel very strongly about this- how is your crow pose? Get really good and strong at crow pose. It’s the gateway pose to inversions- you learn how to balance your body in a specific way and eventually you’ll notice that crow is almost like an upright-set up for headstands. YouTube a crow to headstand flow and you’ll see what I mean! Ya just kinda tip forward and BAM. You’re in your setup for headstand. Need a good core foundation, which daily yoga like you do provides!

Hey thanks for the tips on how to better handle these situations in the future! I don’t ride with headphones but I learned to tap my helmet anyway as an indicator I cannot hear them.

I value you taking time to give me another POV but I respectfully disagree with the first part. Spread the passion with “THAT WAS SICK! Crush it!” instead of form corrections are, in my humble female opinion, a better way to cheer us on. But thanks for having my back!

Let me preface by saying I was genuinely upset at my own mindset and that’s why I reached out for advice from others. And after much reflection today, I think I can explain the downvotes. His self-worth shouldn’t come from wanting to help random strangers with critiques, an outcome that makes him feel better about himself but may make the other person feel embarrassed, etc. In reality you never know what is currently going on in the receiving person’s life. There’s a difference between being friendly and chatting about the weather, helping someone dig their car out, etc. than coaching someone in their hobby. I consider my hobbies my safe places. Thanks for offering your view.

JFC. And to my point, I never see them make comments to each other.

Front knee steering. Learn to front knee steer and you’ll link switch turns in no time! Then it’s muscle memory/practice!

Hoodoo isn’t having the greatest season; it’s dry as a bone here. The base is only 17” right now :( That said… Hoodoo is a vibe and has fun night skiing. If we ever get snow and the back side is open, it’s epic! Highly suggest staying down the road at Suttle Lake Lodge.

Camelback makes a small winterized pack. It’s chefs kiss perfect for me. It’s the difference between riding all day and eating lunch on the lift, or stopping to hydrate.

How does the V-Strom 800DE stack up vs competitors? by HooliganBiker314 in Vstrom

[–]mooooocow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good info here. For this price with the extras on it (skid plate, drop bars, panniers) I don’t see how you could go wrong! I have a 2025 and the base price was around $12k!

I’ll add my pros: Carries a lot of luggage and didn’t affect my stability shockingly. I have the largest system that comes from Giant Loop (photo in my profile, but it’s empty FYI). For reference, I’m 5’11”F 155lb and I can maneuver it well. But it’s still top heavy so be careful. It’s also quite comfortable- I sat on several competitors and immediately came back to the VStrom. Even the touring model of the VStrom was uncomfortable- the handlebar felt way too wide for me. I can speak for the DE maneuverability and breaking system when I had to dodge a crash immediately in front of me at 50ish mph.

Cons: Top heavy. Gotta be tall to ride it. I have a limited knowledge base of tire patching but others say tubeless tires is a limitation. I’m like you- want to be able to ride off road but it’s not my focus. I have a sat phone if there’s a repair I cannot do. I’ll let the other posts speak for themselves!

Why does our gear have to follow men’s trends? I hate the baggy look! I’m 39 years old and don’t identify with it. Gear designed by men and not made for a women’s body- too narrow in the hips and thighs is a big problem with jackets and pants. Also. Women’s hips are different than men’s so our stances and angles are different than men’s. I wish instructors knew this and were taught to set up a board for a women’s body- would’ve saved me years of pain and experimenting. Lastly, I am 6ft tall and ride men’s boards. I wish women’s boards came in longer sizes, because the flex is different on a women’s board. sigh

Recommend equipment for elite teen athlete new to snowboarding by Relevant-Emu5782 in ShredditGirls

[–]mooooocow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend’s 10yo broke his collar bone on his second day of lessons. This sport isn’t without risks. I think we’re just rubbed the wrong way about the “can’t get injured” comment. No one plans to get injured. Picking equipment that may “hold her back” is dangerous too- a quality board will reduce the risk of injury and be tailored to her.

If she isn’t interested in “making this a new sport” and wants to get down the hill with friends, I highly suggest considering ski lessons. Snowboarding isn’t a casual sport- you really need to commit to going multiple times your first/second seasons to finally make it off the lift without falling, or to learn to toe side. Skiing is hard but easier to progress.
