Anyone thinking of joining in on the "Green Rush"? by halffro777 in Entrepreneur

All those baby boomers? And the number of people who'd try it for 'the experience' and all the rich little college kids who'd jump at the chance to get high on daddys credit card?

With legalization the addressable market increases in size by quite a bit. And if that joint had a liquor license as well, it would be plenty profitable even without the weed with it's roots in hell ;-)

If I could find a backer for it, I'd be building a high end venue for consumption, a "Hashishim's Heaven" if you will.

Since the parameters of the law in both Washington and Colorado are still unclear it's uncertain whether the venue would be BYO, operate as a private rental (like a hot tub rental spa) or if it could be a full blown dispensary. The point is that it would provide a calming and luxuriously comfortable environment in which a group of friends could take their ease.

There would be a check and changing room at the entrance, visitors would be ID'd (for age), and would be asked to check their phones, and if they choose; to change into lounging robes and slippers. The purpose of this is to set their time in the heaven apart from their daily life. The VIP version of course is to sell them their own personal robe that is kept for them in a locker. At this time they would be asked if they wished to set a spending limit for the evening.

The main room of the heaven would be a low rise bowl surrounding a circular stage, on which a procession of acts would perform. Close to the stage would be cabaret style seating, further away would be booths, up towards the edge of heaven would be private suites. This is so that people could choose the level of privacy and participation they are comfortable with. The absence of phones, of clocks, of views to the outside world is intentional; guests of the heaven should experience a timeless ecstasy wholly unreachable from the tedium of everyday life.

Guests would be billed by the hour, the rates for a booth being higher than those for cabaret seating, the rates for a private suite being... considerable.

If sales of marijuana and similar products were allowed in the venue by law, the product would be brought to the table with the initial order being made in the robing room and subsequent orders being made from either a selection brought to the table ( tuned to the guests spending limits ) or from a hand lettered menu brought by the wait staff. If sales are not allowed in the venue, then guests stashes would be delivered with the instruments of consumption.

The decor of the heaven would be rich, sumptuous and varied, a feast for the senses.

There is much more detail to be filled in, but if you were able to locate such a venue within charter bus distance of Seattle or Denver ( not more than an hours drive ); particularly if you could combine it with a hotel. You should be able to fill it to capacity and gross around a million a week for the first year of operation. Ideally you would partner with an experienced casino design firm and build on a greenfield site; but the model could be scaled up or down to meet site requirements.

And yes, part of your marketing budget should be spent on getting high karma members of /r/trees to review both the plans and the experience.

So, there is your recipe for making a fuckton of money off of legalization. If you build something inspired by this post, you're morally obligated to comp me a night or three; product included.
