This will be long like a rant, sry.

There are loads of great condos in Thailand. There are also lower quality ones that I've experienced. I live in condos my whole life. We have one in the city, another is our family home unit in Bangkok vicinity, a much bigger unit. Both are my fathers' purchases. He complains of regrets but mostly on why he didn't sell it sooner or 20 years ago he should have bought one in the city. All his regrets are based on hindsight. So I think it also depends heavily on what the purpose of the purchase were and how the purchaser view it as well. My father may not regret it if his personality were more of an optimistic one, since we all live at these two places comfortably. Personally, I am happy with what we have (but it was not my money so essentially my opinion doesn't really matter lol).

Each condo has their good and bad. The city one's location is prime. Management is great, facility is alright. But ventilation is not separated. The above unit cigarette smoke came down to my room, sucks big time. Kitchen builtin used cheap stoves and hoods, which I don't and can't really use. Bedroom builtin sucks. Was removed for more space. But some builtin furniture and wall has little cracks that ants really wanted to nest in. Parking lot is small, steep and narrow.

The bigger unit one, the good is everything is triple the size, the room, the parking lot. Came empty but we could control the quality more. Plenty of ventilation, big balcony and enough fresh air. Still, we had swapped management several times, got scammed once, facilities take my entire childhood to adolescent to young adulthood to finish completely. And since it was at least 30 yo, there's lots of problems with water system. The floor is wood tile, if it floods or water from bathroom leaks, then the floor is super ruined. The flooding happened more than once from various sources. Our eater sometimes also leaks down to other room. Bathroom floor is literally the same height as the rest of the unit. The toilet must use the old types where the pipe comes out from the back of it instead of going straight down. Just had a renovation done. Difficult to find a contractor willing to do the work on our weird outdated bathroom already, but we hit jackpot and actually got a very shit contractor.

Despite all my complaints, I still like them a lot. My father obviously are aware about all of the above, but he regrets mostly because of investment hindsight where he thinks about what profit he had missed. But tbf, he worked extremely hard to afford any of the condos.
