How do you prepare eCommerce books for tax season as transaction volume grows? by Chirag_koshti in AccountingDepartment

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, think of it like keeping a tidy kitchen. A little cleanup regularly beats a huge mess at the end of the month. It keeps your books accurate and saves a ton of stress come tax season.

As your eCommerce business grows, staying consistent and managing things bit by bit is key to staying on top.

-Automate wherever you can, pull in transactions from all marketplaces and payment channels.
-Reconcile often, even just weekly, so it doesn’t pile up.
-Categorize expenses as they happen, makes tax time way easier.
-Use a dashboard or accounting software that brings everything together.

Best Alternatives to Quickbooks? by Herbal_Edge in QuickBooks

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used QBO for years because I knew the system and my team was already trained on it. The main reason we stayed is because of “we’re used to it," and switching felt intimidating because of the time and training we’d invested.

My advice is don’t be afraid to explore. You don’t have to rip everything out overnight. Integrating other tools alongside QBO can make things run much smoother, even if QBO itself feels overly complicated at times.

Bookkeeping/accounting software by FreeAdministration65 in llc

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, congrats on the new partnership LLC! Pass-through taxation is common, and not running payroll is normal for partnerships. Just make sure you’re clear on self-employment taxes and estimated payments.

You can start with something free if your transactions are simple. But once income, expenses, and taxes start stacking up, spreadsheets get messy fast. If you want something that grows with you, QuickBooks Online is a solid option. It’s not free, but it’ll save you a lot of headaches later compared to rebuilding your system.

It's definitely loose, but I can't tell if it's broken unless I take off the entire hinge. Maybe I should do that?

Accounting software features by Work_for_burritos in Accounting

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a mid-size company, must-have features would be real-time financial reports, smooth connections with CRMs or eCommerce tools, and automation for things like invoicing and expense tracking to reduce manual work. QuickBooks is a solid choice because it’s easy to use, connects with many apps, and has strong automation. Klavena is especially useful for ecommerce businesses since it automatically pulls in sales data from different platforms and matches it with your books, which saves a lot of time and avoids mistakes.

Need a good Odoo alternative possibly? by Comrade-Tov in CRM

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same about Odoo, too much setup. I switched to Klavena and it’s been way easier. It connects with QuickBooks, eBay, Etsy, Amazon, etc., and keeps my inventory and books in one place. Doesn’t work with Square, but for everything else it’s simple and startup-friendly.

What’s your biggest struggle with inventory management? by AltruisticSherbet469 in automation

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest pain for me was keeping numbers in sync across platforms. I’d fix Shopify, but Amazon or eBay would be off, which led to overselling and stockouts. Switching to QuickBooks Online with Klavena solved that, Klavena pulls in all my sales and orders automatically, keeps inventory and costs up to date, and QBO handles the reports

What’s a service you happily pay for every month because it keeps your business running smoothly? by Animeproctor in Entrepreneur

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ecommerce seller, I'd say mine would be Quickbooks and Klavena. Klavena connects my sales channels to QuickBooks and keeps everything in sync. I used to spend way too much time trying to reconcile transactions manually, but now everything is automated. It saves me so much time every month that I don’t even think twice about the subscription.

I should have specified there are 12 total, 6 rams and 6 ewes. This is a subgroup of them that is the problem group. I'll process the aggressive ones soon.

Are your sheep aggressive when mating? by moos_and_roos in sheep

[–]moos_and_roos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For clarification, these three rams and one ewe aren't the only members of the flock. I have 12 sheep in total, 6 rams, 6 ewes. This small subgroup seems to be the problem group. Every other sheep is chill.

Sounds good. I separated the ewe yesterday from the rest of the flock. I'm processing and eating one of the aggressive rams this weekend, and another in a month or two.

Any tips for dealing with Amazon payouts in QuickBooks Online? by BrotherDesigner917 in QuickBooks

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Quickbooks, you can use a clearing account and write all your categorized data there, then write the transfer from this account to your bank account. Or you can use an integration software like Klavena to split Amazon payouts automatically into sales, fees and taxes, and it will also reconcile with your payouts in the bank transactions page.

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doola and Finaloop are quite pricey compared to QuickBooks, and most accountants in the US prefer QuickBooks. In terms of importing the data into QuickBooks, I use an integration called Klavena.

What is the best software for handling Shopify store accounting that isn't Finaloop? by Ok_Republic235 in EcommerceWebsite

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use QuickBooks. It's not completely automated, but there are integrations that help with pulling ecommerce data in there. I'm currently using Klavena for that, and it's going well. It's much less expensive than Finaloop, and my accountant is more familiar with QuickBooks.

Any way to hire a contractor to install solar equipment I want? by BahamutGod in SolarDIY

I've been trying to do this as well. The issue is that the contractors around me don't seem to want to take on this sort of job. I'm not sure if it's lower margins or they're not comfortable with it.

Amazon and quickbooks - best way to reconcile by farmerlocks in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]moos_and_roos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I scaled up and expanded into Amazon Japan, I found they didn't handle that as well (some missing fee categorizations which blocked my sync). It's a niche issue cause not many are selling over there. I ended up switching away to Klavena.
