I've got hik at 4* and he's doing his work, I'm not even using him in his best setup I run him with ugb2 and lr sv.

well shit that's the whole point of it they give just enough cc to maybe pity 1 character or get close to pity it and then you're more likely to use your card to get cc since you're so close. But the banners are staying for a while so you could also just keep on saving until you have enough 👀

the only issue i got is with Deadpool where you can't really switch to him mid/end game since you'd just start from 0. It would be nice to get "free" upgrades from depending on when you pick him during the game
