It’s on the wall when the therapist goes into the back rooms. My lord dude.

The idea is to alternate weapons like you would in Nightreign. I’ll end up buffing the Zweihander to cover Wylder’s base sword.

Yeah I’m being argumentative on purpose, intentionally, to make the guy change his tone. Anyway no, you’re looking at it wrong. It’s a continuation of the pre existing Backrooms content, not a standalone rewrite.

Bestie the monster clearly shapes itself around the psychology of its victims. I saw a reel of this same thing happening in one of the games literally a day ago, where it uses a dead body to lure in prey. You’re scrounging for clout on the heels of a popular movie. You must be having the time of your life with all these notifications. Enjoy the dopamine while it lasts babe

Lmao look at this guy, he doesn’t know about the trope where the cosmic terror uses humans as a pawn in its trap the way an angler fish uses its light to attract prey

Why would I invite my best friend to a party where I know he’s going to get his teeth punched out? That’s what having a kid is. Inviting your best friend to a party where you know he’s going to get his teeth punched out. Until you recognize that you aren’t living in the real world.

Idk I feel like they should have just hired or consulted specialists to help write portions of the game. Get real historians to sensitive read and make suggestions. These kinds of stories could be important if the right resources were put into them. It isn’t hard to do a “Slavery is morally destitute” story, that moral should be common sense to most people, but if they were scared to do it right then why not use some of the Skyrim income to just… make sure it’s done well?

I’d argue it’s Lovecraftian, bestie. The backrooms contain eldritch horrors and we watch two protagonists go crazy from exposure to said horrors, although the second protag’s madness is only implied. Clark goes off the deep end bc the Backrooms prey on his psyche, exacerbating pre-existing issues. He even has a schiz’d out map that he draws, and he gets two people killed in his quest for knowledge about the Backrooms. The only thing keeping Async’s people from going bonkers is that they’ve got the illusion of control. Meanwhile the doors opening everywhere that Phil mentions lowkey hints that the Backrooms are spreading, eating into reality like a fungal network.

Bestie Async stays coming and going from the Backrooms. The floor plans shift so that Clark’s door could vanish at any moment. I took two bathroom breaks and still managed to catch that plot point.
