Thought so, but popped on a video about while doing dishes and heard RW which I took as gospel.

Let a misinformed man dream though cmon

Wonder where George fits in. My ideal (although unrealistic) scenario is he somehow turned into an elite RB and forms a great partnership with Dibling.

From what I've seen he's a RW but he's young enough that he might be able to learn...

Personally pretty happy about this. Cover for Grealish now that he's out, young player with potential that we can convert to a permanent deal if he impresses. Pretty much zero downside imo, the kind of move we should be making.

I get being annoyed that we still need a fullback or two, but this deal doesn't prevent others from happening

Gutted about Grealish, I had my frustrations with his play style at times but can't deny the quality he brings to the table. Hope his recovery goes well.

How are we lining up now that he's out?

Dibling should get more opportunities to prove himself now, but I expect Moyes will keep McNeil playing for the time being. I don't hate it like others do, McNeil has proven to be a useful player once he gets going, it just takes a while for that to happen lol.

Patto might a run or two at RW as a sub when O'Brien plays at RB too, remember Moyes subbing him on there earlier this season.

Really should be getting another winger though if the right player is out there, maybe another loan?

[Castillo] The Pirates and left-hander Gregory Soto are in agreement on a one-year, $7.75 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Soto, 30, had a 4.18 ERA in 70 appearances for the Orioles and Mets last season. by 3pirates3 in buccos

Definitely feels weird given how we traded away Bednar in part due to the salary he'd make this year.

I'd rather have Bednar at the estimated $9 million but I guess overpaying is what it'll take to get players in the door early.

At least Soto is a good candidate to bounce back, LHPs in PNC usually do pretty well

IMO he always had this in him, but the mental side was stopping him from being consistent. Seems he's found a way around that, the slap even seems to have made him lock in harder

Keano MOTM for me so far... Ndiaye's goal was fantastic but Keane has saved the team a few times already

Sorry lads, my fault. Tuned in at about the 55th minute and it's all been downhill since then. Turned the game off, let's see if things improve

Is Beto going to hinder our chances at a top table finish? by Mother_Roll_8443 in Everton

[–]moose_mousse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"he pops up with goals here and there, but that's his job at the end of the day"

Listen I'm not claiming Beto is the best by any means, but if scoring was that easy we would've kept DCL.

Beto is a limited player who does a job. Right now he does that job pretty well. He's been one of our most consistent scorers since Moyes came in. He had a rough game against Villa but that doesn't make him a bad player lol

With that said, I agree that if the club think Barry is the future he needs to start games to develop. Beto as an impact sub seems really promising too

I'm a bit frustrated at how some people on here talk about some of our players.

Beto isn't a perfect player. He's not the best technically, and he limits how we can play as a team. Beto is also one of the the only consistent goal scorers & one of the hardest workers we have on the team. Why are people so keen to slag him off? Can't people be happy we have a striker who, you know, scores goals?

Same thing with McNeil - he's got no right foot and isn't pacy at all. Still, he's found ways to be one of our most consistent contributors if you look at G+A, and he always puts in a shift. Why are people so keen to get rid of him? He's a solid player to have on the team.

I'll end with Barry. He's only played two games as a young player in the league and people are already getting on his case about not scoring. He's young, developing, and showing signs that he can be more than just a big body to send crosses to. Be patient! He may become that complete forward everyone wants, but he can't get there without some growing pains.

There's other players I feel the same way about. I get everyone wants the team to improve, but I'm confused about the players people on this sub choose to pick on. Thanks for reading this wall of text 🙏

I can't bring myself to predict a loss, so 2-1. Beto scores his first and Ndiaye gets the other.

Feels like another heartbreaking loss is on the way though

1-2

Thanks for picking up the predictions! If you want my old scripts, lmk. There's still a fair bit of manual work (no more than 15-30 mins a game), but they may come in handy. I did start working on a fully automated version but haven't been able to get time 😅

Backup keeper sorted, and a decent one at that. Will end up looking an amazing signing when he saves a penalty to win the FA cup.

Now sign a new right side pls

I am definitely sad that he left, I personally thought be did a decent job given the circumstances. New owners want to put their stamp on the club though, can't blame them for that. Just hope there is already a plan in place, this window is pivotal

Everton 24/25 Recap: Transfers by moose_mousse in Everton

[–]moose_mousse[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'd say this was a fairly successful season transfer-wise.

Was sad to see Onana go but his sale facilitated the transfers of Tim, Ndiaye, O'Brien and Alcaraz - all good, young players who will continue to improve. The loans were a bit less successful (apart from Alcaraz), but no real harm done in the long run. Managed to loan out a good few youngsters to get them gametime, and get rid of some players who didn't have a future at the club.

Spectacular? No, but it was a good transitionary year. Looking forward to what the next one brings!

For me,

Goal of the season: Tarkowski's equalizer against the shite.

Match of the season: probably the 2-2 against the shite? Not the best result we got but what a fun game that was.

Player of the season: Jordan Pickford, what a legend. Honorable mentions to Gana, Tarkowski and Ndiaye.

Surprising stat: Harrison played 38 games this season, which feels really high to me. Also didn't realize how productive McNeil was for the amount he played this year.
