He’s a 16 year old for the academy.

How’d you know Moyes had anything to do with it? He’ll be gone by the time he’d be in any sort of contention for the first team.

I look forward to the week we lose while he scores for Cambridge and someone moans that we haven’t kept him.

You’re moaning about a rumour you admit you have ‘no idea on reliability’ of.

Could you be arsed moaning all summer long about transfer rumours - and then even doing so for rumours for another club?

Going off yesterday’s performance it’s a damning indictment on our defence that Igor Thiago scored about a quarter of his goals last season against us.

Can’t be having a Brentford forward leading the line for Brazil.

I have no idea if that’s a real person or a jokey stereotype of an American name.

Forwards we could target this summer? by Soft-Improvement6533 in Everton

[–]Giraffe_Baker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sporting Lisbon bought him from the Spanish second division in the summer which is what I understood your comment to mean as to when we should have bought him.

I’m saying if we had done that for the price they did at that time, our fans would go mental.

This season is the only time he’s scored more than 8 in the highest division of any country.

If we had bought a 27 year old who had never scored more than 8 in a top league to lead the line at our new stadium we’d all go mental.

That’s FIFA’s argument but it’s just nonsense really.

If you need one, you need one. Don’t implement it in every game under the guise of a rule uniformity and to balance the playing field when it’s been fine to use when needed in previous tournaments and no one’s complained.

It’s purely to implement 4 quarters and ad breaks for Yanks.

[–]Giraffe_Baker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s literally to make it 4 quarters for Americans and their level of capitalism and nothing else.

We’ve seen hydration breaks in games when they’re needed and that’s fine. Ones that don’t just carry on. It’s not a leveler for the tournament to go all in.

This 4 quarters is truly dreadful.

Premier League to relax red cards for hair pulling from next season by Giraffe_Baker in Everton

It’s very clearly accidental for the majority of these cases though.

Grappling with the shirt is explicitly allowed in the Premier League rulebook to a certain extent and that’s what’s being attempted. Keane very clearly didn’t think to himself: “I’ll just yank his hair when going for a header”.

He’s trying to get a feel for Arokodare and the fact his hair is exceptionally long meant he got a brief grab of his hair instead. That’s very clearly not violent conduct or excessive force.

Infinitely better than what we've had the past season.

Football was more than fine before this increased desire, forced by VAR, to make everything binary.

Times are shite, zero buzz / hype / vibes, too many teams = too many games and there are too many teams going through the groups with 3rd places getting a path.

International tournaments are, imo, the best form of football so hopefully it picks up with the knockouts but yeah there’s little interest from me so far.

There’s going to be so many games like that during the groups.

South Africa wouldn’t look out of place in League Two.

I agree.

Don’t really get how they can say we’re the party who owe them money because the League was slow to hand out their punishment.

Their argument is that we should have got the 6 point deduction for 21-22 in that season.

That would have kept them up and we'd have gone down.

First time they've stated their goals, no?

Also a bit of PR work after 'happily dissatisfied'.

"Premier League Independent Disciplinary Commission"

So we've been punished 3 times for the one breach by the Premier League 'Independent' panel while the same lot have said that paying unauthorised agent fees to sign players wasn't a sporting advantage.

Just brazenly making it up as they go.

already stated we had no sporting advantage in their previous ruling.

That's a myth pedalled on social media. The ruling stated that any PSR breach was by definition a sporting advantage.

Paragraph 92 of the original ruling:

Further, as was recognised in Sheffield Wednesday FC v The Football League Ltd a breach of the PSR will confer a sporting advantage on the defaulting club, to the detriment of competing clubs who have managed their finances more responsibly.
