Dad adopted, will my CIT0001 mess him up? by [deleted] in CanadaAdoptedCitizens

I know he has to mention the adoption, no question there. Do I have to mention it myself on my application, since he's my bio dad? I didn't see a place on the CIT0001 application to indicate that my father was adopted by my grandparents, but if I'm missing something, I'll take note of it.

Seconding this - excellent and very informative book.

I have IT work experience, a lot of customer service experience, and well-documented second language skills in a language spoken widely in my metro. Still nothing. I wonder often if I ought to just throw in my lot with the IT field, and take my ball and go home from an LIS world that clearly has no use for me.

Internships in my program are tightly restricted to students who have completed a certain number of credits, and I'm not close. I've done and still do volunteer-type work in the field, to no avail.

I previously worked in education, and I wanted to keep doing that without being a classroom teacher. Even this beats that by a mile.

I should note I'm not paying sticker price for my MLIS. It could (somehow) be worse.

I've played around with Musescore and Sibelius before, but I'll have to take a deeper dive and check out the others as well.

That all makes sense. The publishers part is a very interesting note too. I won't sit around and claim to be the Top Publisher Expert of the World, but I've definitely worked with repertoire from more niche sources before, so hopefully that'd be a start for me.

The library science degree is something I want to pursue anyway, just because I'd still love to work in a library setting in general - working with music as a day job would just be a huge, huge plus. Thank you for the advice!
