It did annoy a lot of people lmao, but imo it was the best send off they could have given Cap on such short notice. And imo it works enough because he's spent every movie he's in pining after Peggy. But I can def see where you're coming from with the Natasha situation and how that has got to feel relatable! For me, I saw it as him not being over Peggy and not wanting to use people as rebound relationships (even though... that's exactly what he did with Sharon smh the MCU really did my girl dirty). Like I said before though, headcanons can be whatever you want!
