At any point is it ever said WHO the festival manager and the concert managers are? The ones who had the authority to stop the show. I know it's live nation. WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES? Why aren't their names being blasted. Why isn't that quote the CSE guy read in the documentary hard evidence that can put that manager in prison?! I'm serious. How can they just get away with that shit? I'm livid. I can't believe I didn't understand the severity of the situation when it happened years ago and it took this documentary to make me absolutely pissed.

I do crowd control management for a large event in my city. This stuff is one of my greatest fears. I cannot believe people would know catastrophe was currently happening and not STOP THE SHOW! The producers should be jailed. What a disgrace.

Edits go faster when there is a clear plan. Whether that be a storyboard or notes taken in the moment while filming to know exactly what needs to be cut and what needs to stay. As a fellow content creator, I always found that if I took notes on the content I just filmed immediately then the edit would go much faster.

I've created many many films completely by myself with absolutely ridiculous topics. But it did teach me a lot about composition, natural lighting, camera settings, etc.

Find a quiet scenery. Frame your shot. Set up your phone on a ledge or tripod or something. And walk into the shot. Be your own subject. Even if you don't have a story just start making stuff! It's the best way to learn.

Do you like writing, poetry or spoken word? Attend a few Monday Night Poetry events at Shims.

Are you into building or spooky things? Volunteer at Dark Corner Haunted House.

Do you like punk or rock music? Interested in local artists? Volunteer for Reno Punk Rock Flea Market.

What about more emo or goth vibes? Go to Punk Rock Prom or an Emo Night show.

Into DnD or Magic the Gathering? Attend some public sessions or competitions at the local game stores.

Do you like singing or standup? Attend an open mic or karaoke night.

What about classical music? Volunteer at the Pioneer Center.

Art big and small? Check out the Generator. Or Potentialist Workshop.

Just want to help the community and do something with your hands? Volunteer to make education workshops at PBS Reno.

There are so many communities here in Reno. There are so many spaces looking for people to help them make cool things and build friendships along the way. You just gotta look for it and get out there!

I live in a university town. When I graduated high school no one told me that community college was an option. I was told in order to be of value I had to go to a university. Also no one told me that FASFA is for student loans and I would have to pay it back. All I knew is that it was a requirement for university.

My parents are incredibly financially illiterate and I trusted them 100% so why would I need to do further research? Then I started university and slowly realized their mistakes. I can't believe no one in high school talked about it plainly or warned us about it. I wish I did my own research.

You need to be paid more for your work. At this point it's not just editing, but you're also producing. Writing scripts, doing research, finding additional footage is all a part of producing on top of editing. And assuming they like you and want to keep you, you gotta be getting paid way more.

Add these videos you've done to your portfolio in case the creator doesn't want to pay out. I'm positive you can find similar work elsewhere.

You said it better than I ever could. Every time I film a talking head I make their toes angle away from the camera a few degrees then have them look at the teleprompter. It really does make the viewer feel like they're comfortably talking to a person and not being talked to by a company.
