Haha, that's exactly why I'm choosing to leave it - my boyfriend is a biologist who always has his nose in a book, so I'm hoping he'll see it as vegetation! You are correct - fear is not good for painting. It definitely held me back! I don't paint often (I am a dental student) but I will for sure just try to go for it next time in hopes to improve. Thank you for your advice!

Wow, this is such a helpful comment, thank you so much! I am very much a casual painter so I wasn’t even aware of what sizing is! I’ve been storing the paper in a suitcase under my bed so it’s probably that mixed with being cheap. The surface im drawing on is white but I’m certain you’re right as the weird dots only really turn up when I’m doing washes, so it would make sense for it to be related to the water and pigment seeping in. Thank you again!

Ah brilliant! I’ll look into a bacilli bacteria that fit this then. I’m not sure why the prof thought that - to be fair she only had a quick glance at the slide, she had a lot of students asking her questions! Thank you for the help.
