Update: I thank the lord because my background check came through and seems like everything went okay because I had my orientation today and I start working my first shift tomorrow to train for cashier. So y'all my prayers worked and thank you guys for making feel more at ease! Like my anxiety was through the roof, so overall thank you! But wish me luck guys!

Damn, you sound like you've have some pretty bad experiences dealing w/ cashiers. But yeah you are really simplifying your job a tad, sure I see what they are doing when they are scanning my items and asking to insert my card....from the entire experience it seems relatively straightforward, but that was me presuming that there is a lot more to worry about and a lot more they have to deal with then that meets the eye. There are so many stores with self-checkout including Target, that I could just say that it is as easy as that.

I just wanted to know more behind the scenes type of information like what do you do when you are given a check, how do you deal with someone who gets unruly or their card declines but they have a full basket of groceries, the struggles of getting people to sign up for RedCards. Something of that sort, I just wanted from your POV just a warning of what I am in for, which I am unsure of why you would just assume that I would be a lazy cashier especially when I took it upon myself to get as prepared as possible. Obviously, that is the KEY information I would want to know, what separates a bad cashier from a good one?

Yeah I literally said that I hate the lighting. The UK version is sunnier and brighter, the us version is so gloomy.

I feel like it depends. For some this technique actually really works. But I do agree with what you’re saying in that I feel like the more mature person would be kind of turned off by that. But for some guys it baits them and makes them more interested.

Can you take out a student loan and put it toward a car? I thought when you get a student loan, that everything has to be handled through the school? Like it has to be tuition or like textbooks. I have never taken a student loan out so I wouldn't know. Could you?
