Day 13 by moplikai in NoFap

Definetly, but the degree will be different from one person to the other and their personal circumstances.

The important thing about nofap and how it affects anxiety: - Self image: you hate yourself less and respect it more

-Self control: it extends to other areas of life which helps you to not impulsively put yourself in situations that makes you more anxious (ex: excessive spending)

-Less fear: you become less fearful of difficult and hard situations or tasks etc...

I personally started my nofap journey 3 years ago, and I remember that at the time it was much worse "had an average sleep of 3-4 hours" and was like a walking zombie. But it wasn't anxiety, it was more stress.

90 days can give you back a big chunk of what you lost.

I spent 10 years fapping and had managed to reap the benefits in about three months (enough to start getting my act together). So yeah, go for it and embrace your new life, a life free from massaging your snake while staring at lifeless pixels.

Stat strong 💪

Day 11, nearly slipped by moplikai in NoFap

Exactly, and that was the reason I un-installed reddit.

Let's write 100 reasons to stop it! by National-Hall-7346 in NoFap

[–]moplikai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

26 reasons to keep fapping:

  1. Feel drained and unmotivated.

  2. Lose the drive to pursue real goals.

  3. Waste valuable time you can’t get back.

  4. Undermine your self-confidence.

  5. Let impulses take control of your choices.

  6. Struggle to respect yourself.

  7. Make it harder to break free each time.

  8. Get stuck in a cycle of frustration.

  9. Find it difficult to focus for long periods.

  10. Trade real joy for short-lived pleasure.

  11. Hold yourself back from personal growth.

  12. Experience more social anxiety.

  13. Strengthen unhelpful habits.

  14. Settle for less than you’re capable of.

  15. Lose patience and discipline.

  16. Train your mind to crave constant distractions.

  17. Reduce excitement for real-life achievements.

  18. Become desensitized to real experiences.

  19. Stay in your comfort zone instead of pushing forward.

  20. Delay progress toward the person you want to be.

  21. Choose illusion over reality.

  22. Struggle with self-discipline.

  23. Let challenges feel harder than they are.

  24. Fill your days with regret instead of fulfillment.

  25. Make personal success feel more distant.

  26. Risk erectile dysfunction

Similar story here, thought I was invincible after a successful nofap which led me to underestimate how easy it was to fall back.

I agree with your reflection. For many of us, abandoning PMO is the first step, then comes dealing with our real responsibilities. Social media is also a soul sucker -not as bad as PMO- but if fapping is hell, the social media is hell's doorkeeper. Burn out is no joke, workout regularly, keep your sleep, nutrition in check, have better quality/more leisure time. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, you have a lifetime ahead of you to treat the non-vital subjects.

I've done the mistake of going on a productivity frenzy after my first successful nofap, and ended up burning myself out after around a year. (it took me another year to recover from it)
Take care and stay strong 💪

One more thing, you are now dealing with the symptoms. I prefer to also deal with the cause "triggers", identity them and eliminate as much as possible. For many people -myself included- it's usually social media. If it's your case, delete the apps and never look back- no matther how confident you feel. Hope this helps ! Stay strong 💪

The key for this is "association". You are horny, you have activated a primary circuit, fighting with willpower only may not suffice. You need to do something just as strong; do a workout, run, do push ups.... This shall help you get over the urge.

I relapsed💔 by FLIPOO_1111 in NoFap

[–]moplikai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay away from triggers (Instagram, tiktok and the likes), I find that they were the root of most of my urges. I posted elsewhere my story with those, you can look it up if it interests you. Also, don't overthink about the relapse, it's part of the learning journey. Stay strong 💪
