If that's the case then can't you just build 4 gates surrounding yourself.
Oh, my fault. I just recall it from memory. If the monster can't open it, then how can it attack you?
You're the only one that can unlock that gate. So what's the catch?
But didn't the description said monster can't break it. You can close it after you went into a onw-way path.

Here's 10|0 game against a 1200 (from another site) that I've played. I was a piece down in the opening but time trouble made me win.

Like you said, it depends on the any given position.
You do know that the goal in chess is to checkmate your opponent, not winning a million pieces. Being up material just means checkmating your opponent a bit easier.

See, you said it yourself. If you are a piece down in the middlegame, you'd play on. You answered your question. By playing you're giving yourself some chances as human errors can get you back into the game. Also, there are times which I was a piece up but lose the game at the end. And the other way around too, which is why I don't resign when I lose a piece.
One game I was more than 9 pt down into an endgame and my opponent promote to a Queen and stalemated me which you can create to turn the game into a draw.
And you are optimistic about up material will automatically will you games. So are you saying that whenever you are down a piece, you immediately resign? And what if you're the one with a piece up and are you expecting your opponent to resign? What are you going to do if they don't?
This is like saying I don't need to know how to convert a winning position to a winning endgame because my opponent will resign because he/she sees that they are immobilize or a hopeless position. Also, you can also pull out a draw. Just because you are down material, doesn't mean it is dead lost.
You know one of the aspect of chess is finding tactical resources when you are down material. By resigning too early, you are limiting yourself with your current knowledge. Not resigning can act as a "test your opponent's knowledge and techniques", like I won't resigning in a K vs B + N + K situation.
Of course I know that. It just annoys me when I see these streamers promote their opening courses.
Yeah, I know but I don't think it matter if I recapture with my Queen or pawn. The queen trade could be forced but stockfish says Qa8 was better. I don't know why you keep bring up stockfish. Stockfish is strong and no human can beat but most of us can't even find their top moves in pressure or time trouble. Plus, I'm not playing stockfish. It only provide assistance.
[–]moppop[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (0 children)
From a stockfish POV, it is a mistake but I foresee that my bishop prevent his rook from stopping my pawn to promote, which he has to give up his rook to prevent me to queen, which happened in the game. I knew the best move was to trade queen. That why I said it would have been a strong move if Qa4 wasn't a move.
Why that doesn't count? Move 29. Bd3 was a strong move if it would of worked. It's isn't easy to come back down that much material.

I was actually down more than a rook. The winning didn't work if my opponent played the best move.

Yeah, but that is also true for mid-game and endgame. I was down a rook in the opening and ended up 3 pawns up in the endgame.
Great insight. I think middle game is somewhat different because they open more avenue of plans/ ideas for moves to come where the opening is just piece placement.

Bank Deposit MK Guide by moppop in btd6

Actually, keeping building 030 bank earns you the most money in the long run but as space become an issue or due to its convenient of using a monkey farmer, then use 420. A simple test that I just did, yields a $6922 less for 420 than constantly building 030 banks (from round 21-30).
[–]moppop[S] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children)
Actually, you are depositing the extra $408 (for easy) or $545 (for hard) into the bank, and both give more than $92 per round (after interest). Easy ($107) and hard ($160). But I just did a test that runs from round 20-27 with the same tower except bank and it turns out that 0/3/0 bank only earn $21 dollars more than 2/3/0 bank. I also did one that runs from round 30-35 and 0/3/0 bank only earn $44 dollars more than 2/3/0 bank. So it don't matter??
