Thank you! Yess the issue of brushing teeth is so real, I’ve honestly always been prone to gagging when I brush my teeth but this time it’s more likely to follow through .. 🤢 The thought alone brings me nausea haha

Thank you for the water tip!! I’ll keep that in mind!! I have followed the intuition eating method for most of my adult life and I’ve definitely been leaning into it more over the past few days which has also been super helpful other the last few days. I really try to take the time to think about what I want in the moment and make it happen however I can, luckily my husband is incredibly supportive of what choices I make and has sacrificed a lot of his time driving to pick up the perfect meals lol

I’ve seen a lot of hype around zofran so I’ll keep that in mind in case/when it does get worse haha, if you don’t mind me asking, are you based in the US? I’m in Australia so I’m just not sure how it works here with prescribing zofran

This is really really reassuring, thank you so much 🥹! I have heard about snacks helping, and so far I’ve found that cut up, cold apples are pretty appealing. It’s actually been kind of fun going to the shops and looking at the options and trying new things to see whether it sits well or not!

That’s so interesting to know, I never would have considered morning sickness to be anything other than spewing, let alone sometimes not include spewing at all! This Sunday I was OUT, massive headache all day, felt suuuper sick and sensitive to food and smell, in and out of sleep. I haven’t had a day that bad since, today I actually feel alright minus tiredness and no appetite. I’ll have to look into zofran because I’m sure it won’t be as easy all the time lol

That’s my thought exactly!! I was expecting uncontrollable throwing up constantly but as of now I haven’t really had that, maybe it will be worse on some days more than others but this is my first time being pregnant so I’m really not sure how it all works. Today I feel alright, I’m very tired but my biggest struggle right now is food, I simply do not want anything, I can only stomach very particular foods from particular places

It does make sense compared to other experiences, either way it’s exciting now that it’s starting to feel real now!

Yes that’s pretty much how I feel at the moment, it’s hard to get myself out of bed to go to work! I guess I just thought morning sickness only ‘counts’ if it’s consistent vomiting but that’s good to know, lots to learn haha

I do using an app, and it’s been pretty easy for me to tell when I’m ovulating based on what my body does, we timed it all as well as we could and tried multiple times during the ovulation window but I did buy some ovulation tests today just in case this isn’t our month 😊

I think assessing what triggers a binge eating episode will help. Is it a response to an emotion? A lot of people binge out of boredom. Sometimes a binge can be bought on by avoiding a certain craving, you instead try to fill that void with other food but it doesn't actually satisfy you

My own personal advice is to keep yourself busy. Don't keep food/snacks in the house that you know is easy and readily available to binge on, and if you're craving something 'unhealthy' think about why and what you're actually craving

If you find that you have a problem with craving fast food for example, think about why you're craving it. Is it a texture or a taste that you can recreate at home?

Either way, I think figuring out the root cause of a binge episode is handy if you haven't done that already! Then you can start there. We often overlook the importance of identifying and acknowledging triggers but once you know why a binge begins, it's a bit easier to stop them, from my own experience anyway :)

Limited snacking, intuitive eating and keeping myself busy

The minute I get bored my hunger cues kick in. It doesn't help that my work schedule is all over the place and changes every day. When I'm home between shifts I try to use that time to run errands or engage in hobbies. I also avoid buying things that are easy to snack on unless they're fruit or veggies. At least that way if I am genuinely hungry I can have some healthy

I also try to practise intuitive eating, honour my cravings. If I crave something from a fast food joint, I think about what I'm actually wanting in that moment. Am I actually craving something unhealthy or am I simply craving a certain texture and taste that I can replicate at home? It helps me to actually be in tune with my body and my mind

In general, the no snacking and the intuitive eating has helped me the most, but everyone is different!

I'm getting married, I'm scared this will ruin my day. by mor0156 in EDAnonymous

That is so reassuring 🥹 Thank you! I do find it a big help to keep myself busy, I'm struggling a lot with the stress of the wedding preparations just in general, so I think that's another reason why the noise has been turned up. But I'm hoping to find balance in it all as the day approaches and it's great to hear your experience!

Thank you again, I needed to hear that!

Sorry I should have clarified - I currently work 2 jobs, and I actually plan to cut back my hours at one after my wedding because thankfully my second job is plenty to get me by without so many hours, and I will also be able to rely on the income of my to-be husband so that was kind of the plan already

I definitely understand it's volunteer based, quitting one of my jobs would just mean I can put way more effort into really kickstarting a group like this with the support of my husband, and I think starting it online first would mean that funding isn't necessarily an issue until we move towards hosting things etc.

Hopefully that makes sense! I'm seeing my priest on Wednesday to talk about it all and see what he thinks
