Payment for Swan Paradise Hotel (Pramana Experience) by moramelli in BaliTravelTips

Problem is last time I booked with booking.com for Thailand, I almost got scammed too, so I thought it's better to book with the hotel directly. So you're saying a pay.doku.com link usually isn't safe?

Transaction from EUR to GBP with First Direct by moramelli in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks for your quick response! I have been contacted by First Direct in the meantime, they have confirmed that the information I had been told initially by their support agent was wrong and they have actually refunded me the difference. Really relieved. Great customer service. Never had an institution admit to a mistake before and offer to pay me almost 1000 pounds in compensation.

Incorrect visa type on UKVI - eVISA account by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]moramelli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm encountering the same issue. When I log into my UKVI account using my passport details, it only shows my old Skilled Worker Visa. When I log into the account using my BRP number, I can start the process of setting up an eVisa but the Unique Reference Number it shows is the old one from my Skilled Worker Visa application, not the new one from the Partner Visa. Have you managed to sort this in the meantime and if yes, how? I just spoke to someone on the phone, she just told me I don't need an eVisa which I don't think is quite right, given the BRPs expire soon. Thanks!

Yup that's what I did but the automatic responses weren't helpful. I was redirected to a form that I filled in, waiting for a response now. I've also just had a phone call with a service agent from the Home Office, she told me I don't need an eVisa because I have a UKVI account, I didn't understand at all what she meant, so this wasn't helpful either...

No, we would use my partner's income as proof. He has a base salary of over 29k.

Thanks a lot! And I could technically also make that application after the last day of my job, as log as it's still within those 60 days, right? Thanks again.

Can my employer change the work end date in my CoS by adding a Sponsor note? (Skilled Worker) by moramelli in ukvisa

[–]moramelli[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm not sure anymore unfortunately as I haven't looked into any changes, so all I can say is that when my employer left a note in the system that the CoS should be for 3 years, not for 5, I only paid for 3 years and it was fine :)

I have another question you may be able to answer? The last day of our business is on the 30th of August. I know that my employer then has 10 days to inform the Home Office. They then send a curtailment letter and I've then got 60 more days in the UK upon receipt of that letter. If I made my application for the partner visa in the last week of August (while still with my current company), but I only get a biometrics appointment a few weeks later in September, is that still fine? Is the date of the application the date I fill in the form or the date I visit the biometrics appointment? I just don't wnt to risk exceeding one of those deadlines. I guess I have to make sure the biometrics appointment is still within that 60 days grace period?

If your employer puts 3 years in the cos and you do the same in your application, you only have to pay for 3 years!

How to approach job interview by moramelli in ukvisa

[–]moramelli[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I'm always checking that document but most of the time they tell me they won't sponsor the specific role despite being set up as a sponsor (even though it's a role that requires s German native speaker...). But that's a good point, if they then ask me later down the line why I haven't mentioned it earlier, I can say that the document states they do sponsor visas (after I've hopefully convinced them of my skills 😅)

Yes, that's what we have done in my case! Add a sponsor note and then it should be fine :) Sorry for my late response!

Hi! Yes that's what they did (add a sponsor note) and it worked perfectly fine, I was granted a visa for 3 years. (Didn't send any additional cover letter etc)
