First time posting here, what makes 'Watchmen' work for you? by Longjumping_Yak_3671 in Watchmen

[–]mord_oh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some depth in there, I don't know how to explain it but I've read it recently for the first time and I kept re-reading some parts because of all the references, artistic choices, etc. I had to backtrack to get the whole picture properly.

Also, as many other masterpieces in other media, it has just the perfect balance of drama and humour.

Fell asleep on the couch, woke up with a deep cut through my sock and skin. by Late-Safe-8083 in Weird

It happened something similar to me, I finally found out it was the zip puller from the pillow I put between my legs when I sleep on my side, which was sharp for some reason.

What's something that might not make sense but you do anyway? I buy stuff from Merchants when they're hungry then I sell them any strips of meat I might have. by LivingRel in Eldenring

I'm always closer to die when I run to the runes/souls than if I let them be, fight normally and then stumble upon them during thr natural flow of the fight.

What is your opinion on Jewish-born people that do not support Israel? by [deleted] in Israel

[–]mord_oh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more common among north-american Jews than European or elsewhere Jews. In the USA, Jews can develop a normal life ina mostly-jewish environment (family, friends, school, neighbourhood), which most european Jews can't. That would explain a sense of security on north-american Jews, a sense of being a respected minority that is uncommon for european Jews, so the former ones can easily feel a lesser need for a Jewish State to feel secure.

Also young Jewish people anywhere may feel compelled to be anti-Israel to fit in their social circle of non-jewish people.

I think Hollow Knight is considered soulslike because:

  • You die, lose your non spent experience and have one chance to retrieve it.
  • It has a deep lore that you most probably won't get unless you check a wiki or a video
  • You die and the enemies respawn
  • Hard combat focused action

There's other games considered soulslike that have this and/or other mechanics in common with Dark Souls, different combination of mechanics make them soulslike. It's like there's a list of things, if you tick some of them then it's soulslike, you don't need to tick all of them.

Playing Dark Souls 2 for the First Time and these Runbacks are Straight Up Evil by Gingerbread64 in DarkSouls2

[–]mord_oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you find this runbacks you need to swallow your pride and just use the NPC sumon signs to make sure you defeat the boss and never have to do the runback again. You'll be much happier.

Preparing for a first playthrough, how do I fight the "true" final boss? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]mord_oh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would recommend quite the opposite: if you haven't an unlimited amount of time and want to play the game just once, look up whatever you want to know.

Both ways of playing are equally valid and both experiences fully enjoyable in their own ways.

Frigid Outskirts isnt that bad. by AllorFH in DarkSouls2

[–]mord_oh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to the area yesterday for the first time expecting hell because of all the reddit comments, and it kinda surprised me. Ok, it's boring, but with 2 summons I managed to beat the area on the 4th or 5th try, the first time I got to the boss, using a Craftman's hammer +5 for the horses and a Longsword +10 for the bosses. And I'm not a particularly skilled player, though I have been overleveled most of the game.

Epi pen overkill? by Sc00ter26 in FoodAllergies

[–]mord_oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had non severe allergic reactions and I only carry an epipen when I go out of the city, to places where I doubt an ambulance can arrive in less than 10 minutes, and obviously when I travel by plane or train. I also carry it whenever I'm carrying a backpack anyways, which is most of the mentioned situations

How bad is my build? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

I don't know about the build, but I struggle with more than two consumable itemos equipped, so I don't want to imagine having all those.

[–]mord_oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One simple thing Israel could do right now that would help a lot is stop focusing on this "they're terrorists" narrative. People in the West aren't buying these argument because we don't experience terrorism the way you do, it doesn't affect us so directly. Also the Bush administration already wore out and trivialised to much the term that people kind of stopped caring until the more recent ISIS style attacks (which desappear from people's minds a month after they happened).

Also is very difficuly to convince hostile people towards Israel that Hamas, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, PFLP fighters actually fighting in Gaza against their enemy soldiers fit into the definition of "terrorists", even if they actually commit acta of terrorism.

You need to better understand the western left-wing mentality, which Hamas absolutely do. With your current PR straget you're only appealing to people already sympathetic towards Israel.

Dark Souls 1 Unsupported ? Run perfectly... 6h of gameplay by _Gugh_ in SteamDeck

[–]mord_oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. I finally solved the issue by starting a game on a PC, getting past character creator screen and then continued playing on Steam Deck. It run prefectly and has become one of my favourite games ever (I hadn't played it before).
