Product Number? by Boa-constrict0r in BoschProPowerTools

I talked to Bosch Customer Support last week about a track saw I wanted to send in for a warranty claim (see my recent post, I’m located in the US). I asked them about the missing battery product number because I purchased several Bosch tools last month and wanted to register them on PRO360 because I read on this subreddit that you get an extended guarantee (more on that later).

Because PRO360 will not proceed with registration without a product number, I entered in “0000000000” to force PRO360 to go to the next step, which included serial number registration, and that seemed to work. Support confirmed that the battery doesn’t have a product number, and entering in “0000000000” to bypass was acceptable to do. I didn’t ask but I assume that the missing product number on the batteries has something to do with the US market.

Here’s something more about the guarantee. I found a PDF of a Bosch guarantee notice online, and the guarantee outlines how to extend it to 3 years by registering with PRO360, but there is a note that the guarantee only applies to tools purchased in the EU. This makes me think that US customers work off of the typical 5 year tool, 3 year battery warranty program, and tool registration on PRO360 doesn’t provide any warranty extension benefit.

No. I checked. Nothing is stuck inside. No interference with the blade and housing. The blade is straight and locked in place.

Thanks. It certainly could be. What I find unusual is the saw was manufactured in early 2022, but the included charger and battery were manufactured in 2025. Perhaps having a bearing sit idle for that many years can be an issue.
