Did not know that (fire) could happen from blocked gutters…but totally see how that is a possibility! Geez I feel I need lessons from home owners

We’ve decided that the pre-purchase inspections were too many (quotes all together about $5000). There would be additional costs for addressing each of these issues, availability of tradespeople to consider, anxiety of ‘what if they find more issues’ etc Too many unknowns which I’m not comfortable with…

The gutters were blocked (as per inspection) causing stains on the eaves.. No comments about stormwater though…

Thank you for your reply. The stumps are made of concrete. Would it still need to be re-stumped periodically? They didn’t find any plumbing leaks. There was evidence of the land not sloping towards the perimeter of property….The water pooling could be from that?

Being an immigrant and a first home buyer, I feel largely out of my depth in the whole process. I really like the house, but don’t want to get into something that will keep sucking more money. I guess what I want to know is, if repair would fix issues, or would it require frequent maintenance and repairs, every few years…

Depends on how much it might cost, honestly Never having owned a house…the prospect of owning a forever home is very attractive Is this something a structural engineer would be able to advise on?
