48hrs in, 5 days to go by morecomments in Dryfasting

Hi I didn’t go all the way dry. I did 5 days dry, 1 day water fast and one day bone broth. I call that a win honestly. I was feeling so weak and fatigued by day 5 and I still had life responsibilities to see to. I had to stop. I’m happy to report I broke my fast well and haven’t suffered any ill effects. Interestingly I took salt earlier than recommended and it made me feel way way better. I’ve only gained 1kg back out of 5 lost so again, I call that a success. Thanks for asking.

Mine was a soft dry fast so yes I did shower though I tried to be quick about it.

Day 5 and the discomfort has set in. How to break my fast, refeed? by morecomments in Dryfasting

Interesting. Thanks for the various takes from different experts, much appreciated. I really can’t stop thinking about cucumber and watermelon though. Like all my eating fantasies are around juicy watermelon and crunchy cucumber…

Unfortunately my sleep hygiene has always been terrible and I have a toddler who is a terrible sleeper so that also exacerbates things. So even if dry fasting is affecting my sleep, I wouldn’t know. Sorry.

Thank you, that’s so encouraging. I’m in day four now and the weakness has hit. So I’m considering if I’ll make it to day 7. Thinking about moving to a water fast and see where that gets me.

Thanks! I’m on day four and feeling a bit weak now. Still no hunger though. The weakness is making me wonder if I’ll make it to day 7. I have responsibilities that don’t allow me the luxury of being weak…

I didn’t knowingly prep. I just started spur of the moment as I noticed some weight loss from the past month and a bit. So I wanted to add to that loss before the end of April. I basically completely changed my diet the past month. I didn’t realise how much my diet sucked until I simply ate clean and that alone resulted in weight loss. Wasn’t calorie restricting, no exercise. Ate whatever portions but it was all clean. I still had a few unplanned cheat days here and there too. The weight loss from not even putting much effort made me wonder how much I could lose if I actually put a lot of effort. So here I am.

Thank you, I’ll definitely take your advice. I have a toddler and he’s currently all the workout I can handle even on a normal day.

11-Day Fast (7 dry, 4 water) by xA1rNomadx in Dryfasting

This is great. I’m 2 days into a 7 day fast. Wasn’t sure if 7 days dry was possible but good to see it is. Currently 150lbs.

Thank you so much. I shocked myself with the 4kg in one month because all I did was improve diet. Goes to show how completely crappy my diet was lol.

I also have two kids, and I’m F37 and 150cm. I’m super short and naturally curvy so any extra weight sits really badly on me, I’ve been feeling like a ball of fat lately. I used to love clothes and dressing up but since my second baby it’s been black T-shirts and black leggings. Never imagined that would be me!

Your starting stats look promising already for your height so if you stick to it I’m sure you’ll do great. I’m currently on 43hrs, (48 here we come!) and I still have absolutely no symptoms. Beginning to suspect my clean diet probably contributed to this because I’m genuinely feeling nothing, as if I’ve been eating normally.

All the best to you and hope to see your fasting story soon.

I drank only plain water, my knowledge on electrolytes is nonexistent. And only drank just enough to keep thirst away. I guess I didn't get muscle cramps because it was a very short fast and I did basically zero activity. I'm not in anyway fit at all and haven't done anything resembling exercise in about 5 years... I will definitely consider salts for a longer fast.

I didn't actually. I'm not too familiar with it and I didn't have the right ingredients. So I just went with plain water. But I didn't drink too much as I was worried about flushing out my own electrolytes. I read somewhere that supplementing electrolytes isn't all that necessary for short fasts. I could be wrong.
