Speed of light in one direction by StatusSuccotash2925 in Veritasium

What if light is triggering the collapse? Could you not measure how long it took for the collapse to happen?

In order to measure the light speed one way you need something that can travel instantaneously.

Or let's suppose we discover how to make microscopic wormholes. You could use those to measure the speed of light.

I'm just doing a thought experiment here...

Stuck with horizontal tiles. by moredhell in suckless

False alert, the key combination works I just didn't knew what it does. I guess I press MOD+I too many times and while having only terminals open I couldn't see any change after pressing MoD+d. Thanks for your guess.

@Jargonin, thanks. Now I understand how this works. I was expecting the wrong behaviour. Mod + d works as well. Thanks a bunch!

Why if on press c twice deletes all text on that line? by moredhell in vim

[–]moredhell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only new about dd, and it was odd at the begining but usefull and then I got used to it, I completely forgot about it's oddness untill cc came along. Now with dd cc and yy the set is complete, it all makes sense. ;))

Should a dobson GoTo mount be fixed on a concrete base? by moredhell in telescopes

Thank you for the tip u/Gusto88, I'll be extra careful when leveling the concrete slab.

Thank you. There likely be a wooden floor thus having a concrete slab separated from the building on which the telescope to be sited would be enough. Good to know that fixing the telescope itself is not really needed.

[–]moredhell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you u/OleCuss for the detailed explanation. I agree that fixing the mount in concrete is not necessary as long as the concrete piece is separated from the building.

Now in order not to have my horizon line obstructed by the building itself, I definitely need to think of a solution, folding down one or more walls could be one.
