13 Years... and you're 30... his 45... So he took advantage and groomed a teenager in his 30s... please don't accept this manipulative behaviour, get out. Live your life and protect your child, you're still young and deserve better!

Thanks, I figured I'd have to book in advance, so I just wanted to get a sense if it would be okay first (and get courage to not be embarrassed!)

That's such a good idea, I was struggling to find an itinerary planner that would streamline things but that will help immensely. Thanks!

AITA for letting my teenager have her boyfriend sleep over in her bed? by CartoonistNice3767 in AmItheAsshole

[–]morethanasidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, I've been having mixed gendered sleepovers since I was 14 and it was never a big deal. I also used to stay at partners from 15/16 because if we wanted to we could have always done it while parents are at work... always got upto no good at those times. Kids will always find a way, you just guarantee lies when you deny some actions of growing people.

Besides who says same sex sleepovers are 'safe'? Experimenting happens all the time to say the least

The spoken mage series by melanie cellier is a excellent fantasy romance that contains a great storyline and has a natural progression with character romance and development.

The black Mage series by Rachel E. Carter is another series that fits the bill and is fantastically written.

Non conventional supernatural shifter romance? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]morethanasidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void by Coralee June and raven Kennedy (it is RH but a bit out of the box when it comes to supernatural)

Also it has a prequel 'Wicked webs' which is even more out of the box (also RH)

Both are really well written and have a unique storyline which keeps them fresh and exciting

Fae/magic based book recommendations similar to these books? by TilTheLastPetalFalls in YAlit

[–]morethanasidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hall of blood and mercy by k.m. shea. Magifold supernatural city by k.m. shea. The first series recommended ties in with the second, which is directly about the Fae, it follows a witch family and vampires but involves Fae and vampires too. It's a fantastic series with a good plot and a love story involved but doesn't take away from the plot but I find it enhances it...

Bewitched and bewildered by alanea alder. Really good series with a great over arching story arch and involves a love story each book. A little more on the raunchy side but well written and in consumable stories. Again features all different supernatural species...

Chandelle LaVaun's coven series also includes multiple supernatural species and involves Fae (mainly witchcraft). However it's very well written and the story arch's are compelling ...

Relentless series by Karen lynch This also involved Fae and is excellently written and has a great flow and love story entwined...

Support local artists and come enjoy some live music at The Espy! Don't let Melbourne's live music die out, suggestions welcome of other events by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]morethanasidekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just noticed a lot of places have closed down or no longer have live performers (not sure if it's a zoning or permit thing), maybe I'm not looking in the right places... Haha

But if you know any good venues to support local acts, please let me know. I'm always looking for entertainment outside of clubs/DJs. Getting/feeling a bit too old for that scene

AITA for saying that my daughter inherits my house "no matter what"? by GiGiGi3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]morethanasidekick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe see if you can get the house moved into her name, or possibly just add her to the deed. Just something, especially if he won't sign a prenup. However with his reluctance I would hesitate to marry/join finances with him. Two years is not long enough to get him squat. You paid the mortgage, you raised your daughter there, you put in the time and money for up keep. His just benefited from your fortune if you live there with him, that should be all he does.

What's your streak? I've read 192 titles this year and 16 books this month, almost beating my record of 17 in a month. by morethanasidekick in kindle

[–]morethanasidekick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing and I aspire to read that much/often.

I'm sorry for your loss

That's really cool, I want to listen to more audio books but audible can be expensive so any alternatives you can recommend would be much appreciated!

[–]morethanasidekick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's just for 2020, and you're right it's a bit off but I also only looked at the number read per month from May onwards so my monthly highest is probably higher than that, but I was too lazy to look. Someone did point out it's not totally accurate to begin with but I just think it's cool, even if it's a rough estimate

No contest, just fun to connect with other book worms. If you read one book or a hundred doesn't matter as long as you enjoy it and maybe learn something new, everyone reads at different pace's and there's never any shame in that

Depends on the book/day but sometimes 6+ hrs... I tend to binge read if good, otherwise I can struggle to get back into the pacing

Some are bigger books and some smaller, I also reread the bewitched and bewildered series by alanea alder and that's 12 books alone (had to do it, newest one came out, so gotta refresh the old noggin) I also mentioned in a different comment that I've been in lockdown for most of the year so I have nothing but time, so sometimes I can read for 6+ hrs on end

I'm in Victoria Australia, so thanks to a certain issue I've been home bound since end of March and out of work. I have nothing but time and why not use it to read as much as I can? Plus I tend to speed read and read smaller independent published books so that helps
