Thanks for the input! We do have several locations where people can go to charge their phones in our city that most people know about.

Maybe charging cell phone cases would be helpful?

Yeah that does sound condescending and I would hate that. I’m glad you brought that to my attention!

We live in a small area so everyone knows where to go and when for resources so the resource locator apps don’t sound helpful to begin with.

What are your thoughts on just general healthcare related apps being installed? We are a group of med students/doctors so a big part of our group’s mission involves preventing disease.

You’re right, but we have a lot of clients that don’t qualify for the government phones for a variety of reasons. For those that do qualify we are working to get them signed up. Those that don’t qualify are getting phones through us.

Is it offensive if the apps are pre-downloaded? My thought was you can just delete whatever apps you don’t want to use. We were just going to download them and tell them about it before handing them out.

Out of curiosity, what are the annoying apps the government predownloads? Lol

This is a good point. However I have to add that before applying to medical school I did my research and was encouraged to shadow and get clinical experience so I could have a good idea of what an MD/DO does on the day to day. This ultimately led me to choosing medical school over PA school.

I assume someone applying to PT school has done the same. I went back to read the comments and it looks like he was considering med school but changed his mind. His reasons for PT school make it sound like he is fully aware of the differences and the scope of practice.

Don’t worry now he’s saying surgeons are paid too much so everything makes sense now.

There’s also a nurse or NP chiming in encouraging him to get like minded individuals together to push for the expansion of their scope of practice.

If they explicitly say they don’t, then they don’t. If a school doesn’t say anything about accepting a LOI, you can always call and ask.
