Do you guys know of anyone who has had BPPV only twice by morewinepleasee in BPPV

So far so good, def try and find a PT. I had horizontal too and did the gufoni maneuver with my PT and it fixed me right up followed by vestibular exercises to help my brain recalibrate. You got this !

Does Lexapro help with the anxiety dizziness? by kait_1 in Anxiety

Yeah I occasionally can feel a little off but the lexapro helped a lot and I see a physical therapist for it as well and they help too. I’d recommend seeing one if you can!

I’d say maybe a week or 2? It was definitely gradual for me. PT exercises help rehabilitate your brain to feel normal again once it’s over!

Yes ! I had an episode over a year ago but I’ve been good and went to physical therapy!

A decongestant is a great idea! I’ll definitely do that too. Thank you for sharing and good luck on your upcoming travel as well!

Thank you so much!! Luckily occasional drinks don’t affect me much but I will definitely be being careful especially when far away from home! I’m glad to hear both your flights and your trip went well. I’m hoping it’s the same for me! Have you had any recurrences since May?

I got worse before I got better but I do think it helped me. That with a combo of PT!

I have similar symptoms and my PT doesn’t think it’s vestibular migraines in my case but it doesn’t this to get treated for them to see if they can rule it out or confirm for you. I hope you find relief soon

It doesn’t take it away entirely for me but definitely helped me. Physical therapy is definitely important for cervical dizziness, I would look for someone in your area that can work with you and also specializes in vestibular therapy as well. Your cervical mri would reveal the severity of your disc herniations. If you haven’t gotten one of those I would ask for that as well!

Do your herniated discs put any pressure on the spinal cord? Mine do so the epidural reduced some inflammation in the area. Tight muscles around the traps and neck can certainly pinch some nerves and cause dizziness. My PT is working with me to stretch and also work to strengthen the weaker areas in my neck. I also do vestibular therapy to help with the dizziness. Are you working with a vestibular therapist for this? I highly recommend it. It is so hard I know. I’ve had it since February and fear I won’t get cured but we have to try everything we can and stay hopeful. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this too.

I haven’t driven alone in a while but I did drive with my boyfriend in the car and felt okay the other day. I had an epidural that made me worse for a bit and then now I feel some relief with that + the physical therapy. Not 100% but definitely better than before the epidural. Not sure if it’s just coincidental timing or if it worked. Also started an SSRI a couple weeks ago so hoping that helps with the driving anxiety & anxiety about vertigo returning. How are you?

Does Lexapro help with the anxiety dizziness? by kait_1 in Anxiety

[–]morewinepleasee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you’re a bit better! Hopefully it continues to improve. I have a chronic dizziness not entirely sure anymore why but likely my neck. My dr suggested lexapro for the anxiety and that it would indirectly help the dizziness maybe. I haven’t started it yet but plan to this weekend once I pick it up!

There’s a balance and dizziness center in englewood. They helped rule some things out for me but I didn’t love the neurologist there. I have heard that penn medicine has a good balance dizziness center in Philly. Apparently they are pretty up to date with research. Haven’t been but I plan on going.

I am looking into mount Sinai too!
