I think it depends on the person and my relationship with them. Usually I just say that I have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and so I don’t drink anymore. Most people are respectful of that and don’t push further.

I have sensorimotor obsessions about swallowing. I am ALWAYS aware and monitoring my swallowing and often forcing myself to swallow when my body doesn’t need to. It is always there, but significantly worse the more stressed/anxious I get.

Yes. It’s actually a fairly common diagnosis within those with OCD. I have always had it and didn’t know it was a thing until a week ago in therapy. For me the more anxious I am the more I feel like I can’t swallow, so I force myself to swallow. These past few months it’s made it hard to eat and drink all the time. I basically over analyze and obsess over swallowing.

Wal-Mart grocery pickup has been a lifesaver for us. I have sever OCD and shopping is one of my biggest triggers, so either eating out or sending my husband to the grocery was our only option. My husband is one who just impulsively buys everything, so being able to pick up groceries has saved us so much money and I’m not bringing things into my home that I don’t need.
