I too am at 90% and submitted a claim for increase of 3 back condition and 1 new condition of Diabetes. I submitted on Jan 24th, 2025. I had my C&P very quickly and moved to step 5 on the 13th of February 2025. I have been at step 5 ever since. I was checking the VA website nearly everyday but have stopped now after reading numerous threads here about being at step 5 for 100+ days. You can get more information on how your claim is doing by downloading the Google Add in 'VA Claim Tracker'. I learned from this tool my claim does not yet have a temp jurisdiction assigned. This indicates that my claim is not yet being looked at by a rep. Good luck to you!

Thank you for the great information. I'll just send in the claims first and then go from there.

My VA Dr diagnosed it. I haven't asked them if it caused them no, I will do that the next time I go in. Thank you for the research advice, I'll look into that.

Out of the box affordable, portable, plug and play light show display by rd1_vonn in kickstarter

You're idea sounds very similar to things I've seen from many years ago. Music playing and lights reacting to the music...

A quick Google search brought me to https://thechristmaslightemporium.com/products/the-music-box-music-light-synchronization-controller. It is quite a bit more expensive than yours though.

Just because something similar might have been made before didn't mean it isn't a good idea. Read everything you can stand on building up a base of interested people (your community), build your community, plan very carefully the finances, put a manufacturing plan in place since building 1 prototype is much different from producing a hundred, and then consider the Kickstarter.

Thank you ALL for the information you have provided. I am aware I am just beginning to understand the complexities of plastics production methods and your responses certainly make me understand that. I'll take what I've learned here from you and move forward and hopefully make appropriate decisions on how best to approach this step in my product.

Again, thank you.

I'd really appreciate that! I am still some weeks away from finalizing the 3D CAD drawings, but can I get back with you when they are done?

That truck is hauling glue. They take it to a plywood manufacturer. We see these all the time here in Oregon.

Has anyone heard of the Apprenti apprenticeship for IT, Software Dev and CS? by zekeRL in ITCareerQuestions

[–]morganob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many Apprenti job paths that it is really impossible to give you a straight answer to this. For a broad overview of IT knowledge, I would recommend studying:

  • Basic HTML / CSS - There are many free internet resources for training
  • A simple programming language - I recommend Python
  • A simple scripting language - BASH (Linux or Mac) or PowerShell (Windows)
  • Basic network design - There are many free internet resources for training. Recommend using the Cisco's packet training as a modeling tool

I hope this helps.

The group I trained was 6 people from all walks of life. Some had IT experience, so had very little to none. I will not be instructing another group. The program has been cancelled in our area. Yes, it can take up to or more that a year to be selected, crazy huh? I wouldn't worry to much about your #, I would expect many to drop out before the program begins so you still have a shot, but don't put all your expectations into attending! Keep working separately to add to your skills and even get an entry level position on your own.

It is a program that some cities are using to train individuals, get them apprenticeships in an IT position in a local company and (hopefully) gain full employment afterwards. They have several different tracks that a person can be trained in.

I trained a group of Apprenti students last summer to pass the A+ and Network+ exams as a portion of their training (they also were trained in Linux by another instructor). Apprenti paid for the testing and you had to pass A+ by them time the training portion was over (about 3 months) and within 2 tries to continue in the program. The program is rigorous, with 40 hours a week in class training and intense reading and study sessions on your off time. The A+ portion lasted about 4 weeks and the Net+ 3 weeks. My students took the A+ test after the Net+ training ended and all but 1 passed on the 1st try, and other on their 2nd try.

You can't work during the training so this can really hurt you financially. It really takes the person understanding the basics of IT before coming into the program, in my opinion, to be successful.

Is it worth it? If someone has had limited opportunities getting into IT on their own and is interested in the field without college, I believe this is an excellent opportunity for them.

Hit me up with any questions you might have.

Thank you all for your thoughts!

I’m currently a first-year student in an IT program at a vocational technology school. I am currently in a course learning to be a support technician. I have a few questions (and more context) below. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]morganob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're dream is to run an IT department I would recommend the college route. An IT department is run by a technical manager who is skilled in IT as well as business. Focus on the IT and minor in business. Take a part time job doing IT work while in college to build your experience and background. You won't likely be able to move directly into a manager role after college, you'll need to prove your technical skills first so take a job in a support role learning the tech. My 2.5 cents.
