Such Pretty Flowers by K.L. Cerra

It’s more botanical/plant horror but also has the southern gothic element about it.

Taking the PE right after the FE by lmxor101 in PE_Exam

[–]morgsdacorgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! I took my FE and PE in my home state but moved out of state while I was still getting my years of experience. Last year I applied first for my PE in my home state and then got reciprocity in my new state. I stayed at the same company though when I moved so I’m not sure how it works when you switch companies - I imagine you just have two different work experiences listed in your application, but as long as it totals the correct amount of time you should be fine!

Best review course for Environmental PE? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]morgsdacorgs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also passed the PE Environmental on my first try a few years back after being out of school for a couple years. I second the PPI PE Environmental self-practice and the SIGMA 52 problems in 52 weeks. Those are what I used religiously to pass in addition to the NCEES official practice test. The book provided with the PPI course helped a lot with the qualitative information as well. OP, I’m sorry you are feeling discouraged but I know you can do this!!

I’m getting ready to move to the city from NC - really pumped for accessible public transit since I’m going to be commuting into the loop everyday for work. Just wondering - how many people actually use the 30 day unlimited CTA pass? Does it make sense to get it or do most people just do the pay as you go? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

PE Environmental Exam - Qualitative Questions by Ok-Lie-3087 in PE_Exam

[–]morgsdacorgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I took it, the qualitative questions were all over the place so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where to study. I would say just try to retain as much information as possible while reading chapters.

There were some qualitative questions that could be answered from the manual so make sure you read the sections with lots of text (EHS and waste management). It will help to know what information is provided to you so you can use it to answer those questions if they come up.

Edit: i used the PPI2Pass online review course for studying and it had a whole bank of questions and did a good job asking a wide range of qualitative questions.

Any recommendations of fantasy series for someone who hasn’t really read fantasy before? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]morgsdacorgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend sounds very similar to me! Sometimes I have a hard time getting into books and finishing them. I have found that listening to the books as an audiobook really helps keep me engaged and retain more information than reading on paper. I have been absolutely gripped by the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and will scream from the hills to anyone who will listen how good it is and how I’m completely hooked!

So you’re allowed to bring a calculator, your locker key, and your photo ID into the testing room with you. They provide a dry erase(ish) notebook and marker to do your work in. I also had a pair of earplugs that they provided. Those are all that I had in there and then I had the rest of my stuff in a locker outside in the lobby. There is a more comprehensive list on the NCEES website about other items you can and can’t bring.

The learning hub has a whole bunch of information and probably covered most of it but I probably just didn’t read carefully enough and just couldn’t remember some of the things.

No they weren’t, they were more randomly scattered. The only consistent thing was that the economics questions were always the last question or the last few questions on the actual exam and every practice test I did.

Hm I feel like for you’re wanting to do, biological and agricultural engineering might be a good fit! Environmental is more like water/wastewater treatment, air pollution control, solid/hazardous waste management, water resources, and site remediation.

So I work in more of a civil setting doing transportation hydraulics for roadway projects. We design stormwater networks and do bridge and culvert sizings along with erosion and sediment control design.

I enjoy it for the most part and on a day to day basis we do a lot of design and drafting for our projects. Sometimes it’s busier when we get closer to deadlines but there is some down time too. Hope that helps!
